This week Chris spent much of the week on the go including a visit back to the Midwest to Delta’s Minneapolis hub. He was there to check out the brand new and stunning G Delta Sky Club and shot tons of photos. Take a look.

René started the week with a post about one of the best parts of Delta – if you know how to work the rules and gain from knowing them. You see almost every single Saturday Delta changes their flight schedules and this can be both maddening but also helpful and save you cash or Skymiles.

Call this next one developing. A large percentage of us Medallions, who are Gold or higher, have not got any HOOU coupons this year. We are not sure what the Delta IT issue is but we are working on a solution and hope to post more about this soon but for now please comment on this post if you too are missing your yearly free drink coupons, that is, the “Have One On Us.”

If you like coffee with a kick you may want to try the new offering in the mini-cans from Delta, that is, the Vodka Espresso Martini with Bourbon Cream. Chris tried it this week and see if you agree with his review of the newest Delta in-flight beverage choice.

We know the Delta Sky Clubs are still fighting overcrowding and this summer may be a nightmare with travel back to full strength. The LAX T3 club is expanding seating to try to help you find somewhere to sit.

One of last spring’s biggest credit card offers is back this year — but we don’t know for how long.

Lastly René put up a poll about beverage bins in the floor of a jet. Is this really OK? See how other readers have voted on the topic!

Maybe the No Drink coupons is another benefit cut and they are easing it in to see if we notice!!

You have said…”You see almost every single Saturday Delta changes their flight schedules”. My question is…. when on “Saturday” does this happen? Is it when you wake up Saturday morning, or at midnight on Saturday night? Like when should one check to see if their flight is affected (and thus take advantage of the change)? Saturday morning or Saturday night? Thanks for any clarification you can give.

@Peggy – Rolls out overnight i.e. early Saturday ET but you may not be able to fix everything until Sunday is my experience.

PM & MM – I just checked & no drink vouchers… probably a new cut by the CEO! I’ve been with Delta FF programs since 1974 with Western Airlines!

It seems that Delta doesn’t really value us as customers anymore. Other major airlines give a lot better rewards to their Million Milers & Frequent Fliers! Time to move on & fly whomever has the best fares since most of the time it isn’t Delta!!!

Hey guys, I just checked and I have all eight HOOU vouchers, four I just received 5 days ago because I just finished requalifying PM for next year.

My drink coupons were missing as well. I called him and the agent, after about a half an hour on the phone, was able to get four certificates added to my account. Good bother me too much as I had plenty to do while I was on hold. But a complete waste of the Delta employee’s time.

I didn’t get my Drink Chits (I guess they’re called “HOOU” but never internalized the name, sorry) in the app too. I discovered when I tried to give a coworker one for a trip to visit her dad in the hospital–and I looked like a dunce when I opened by app and found nothing!

I wrote to Delta and they emailed back and had them loaded within 24 hours. They never let on that it might be a “known error” but I suppose that’s not surprising.
