Delta Sky Clubs: When Does the New JFK Lounge Open? What About Boston? Will the Other MSP Sky Clubs Close?

There are some questions about a few Delta Sky Clubs — and I have some answers!

During my visit to Delta Air Lines’ new MSP G Concourse airport lounge, the company’s Managing Director of Sky Clubs, Claude Roussel, kindly gave us information about some of the airline’s other clubs.

  • A new New York-JFK Sky Club should open sometime around June.
  • The new E Concourse club at Boston-Logan (BOS) will debut later this summer. Probably August-ish.
  • The other Sky two clubs in Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) — the F/G and C Concourse lounges — will remain open. Delta is evaluating them to determine what (if any) renovations they may undertake.

We previously reported that LAX’s T3 Sky Club lounge is adding seats to the Sky Deck and west buffet area.

This is all good news for Delta travelers — especially given the upcoming busy summer travel season.

Are they adding a club at JFK or just refurbishing it?

Adding an additional club that will be about 14,000 square feet.

Thanks for the update. Putting over-attendance to the side, when one walks into one of the new Delta SkyClubs, a person thinks, “Now, this is what an airport lounge should be.” Anyone who has actually visited a range of lounges, both in the U.S. and abroad, has to admit it. Anyone who says otherwise is not being honest. Not that it’s the absolute best but it is among the best business-class lounges. In the U.S., it sets the standard. Yet, there will always be the type who will criticize it or complain about it. What will be interesting to see is the level of food and service in the Delta One exclusive areas.

I’m quite impressed with the new Sky Clubs. The food and complimentary bar offerings aren’t on par with Centurion Lounges —- nor do I think they will be (at least, the non-Delta One clubs). Are they the nicest I’ve ever visited? No — but they’re definitely some of the better lounges.

…and let’s not forget that some of the re-modeled ones are quite nice too. Thinking BNA and the A18 club in BOS. Now, looking forward to seeing the new one in MSP and the soon-to-open new ones in JFK and EWR.

Any update on the EWR move? I keep seeing summer, but knowing EWR it’s probably later than that.
