We’ve seen and heard reports that Delta’s Job Well Done Certificate program has officially been discontinued.
But according to a Delta Air Lines corporate representative that I contacted, that’s not the case. The rep said the update issued about a year ago is still in effect.
We know that recognizing Delta employees who go above and beyond is important to you, and we are grateful for your thoughtfulness. While we have paused the inclusion of Job Well Done certificates in Diamond and Platinum Medallion Welcome Kits, your positive feedback still means everything to our employees. Please share your stories about employees who have made your journey great at MedallionThanks@delta.com.
And existing Job Well Done certificates don’t expire, so please continue to give them to exceptional employees you encounter along your travel.
— From “Update to ‘Job Well Done’ Recognition Program,” Delta.com, August 21, 2020. (Bold mine.)
Delta has resumed cabin service on its flights. Flight attendants are again handing items directly to passengers. So the issue of paper JWD certificates being passed between people shouldn’t really be an issue anymore.

But if that’s the big problem, I wish Delta would figure out a way to incorporate JWD certificates into the Fly Delta app — especially because the world is so QR-code crazy these days.
Employees who receive Job Well Done certificates can redeem them for gift cards or Delta-related items. So perhaps it’s a cost-cutting measure on Delta’s part?
Final Approach
The rumors of the Job Well Done program’s demise have been greatly somewhat understandably exaggerated. I’m glad to hear it’s still going.

I gave one at DCA the other day and the employee took the trouble to find out how to reach and e-mail me to thank me, so they are clearly still valued. I hope they keep them going.
I gave 2 recently and they seemed very glad to get them!
I would like to commend an employee who assisted me on a Sunday evening in July of 2021, her name is Malayil. She was working the disability department this particular evening, approximately 1930 hours or a little earlier. It may have been July 11th or the 18th. This employee was exceptional! I was at my wits end because Delta had changed my flight, gave me a layover and had me arriving in Jacksonville FL around 2230 hrs at night & I was traveling with my mother who is 93 yrs old. I was so frustrated trying to get thru to a rep. The wait time I was being given was 2 to 2 1/2 hours wait time to speak to someone. After several attempts, I saw this disabiltiy number on the back of my Delta Skymile card and I dialed it & she picked up on the 2nd ring. When I heard her voice, I literally was in tears. She was so attentive to my dire situation…she showed nothing but compassion, outstanding customer service, & gave me new flights to accommodate me & my mother. This situation, to me, was so frustrating, trying to speak to a live person & was already so high strung due to my flights being changed. Malayil went beyond her call of duty & I would like her to be commended for a job well done. I truly appreciated her service to me & I want her to be recognized for her professional attitude & niceness. Thank you again Malayil.
Today, Oct 17th, I needed to get home to Cincinnati so I could say good by to a friend that was leaving and I would not see again for a long tine. My original flight to Cincinnati from MPLS-ST PAUL did not leave until 10AM.
I saw an earlier flight DL5190 left at 7:35AM and would get me into the Cinn. airport to see my friend before he boarded his flight. The gate agent Christine Huyah took time to switch my flight even though she wanted to make sure your flight left on time. This is why I always fly Delta
Thanks
I just received an envelope with a new set of these.
Thanks for the data point!
Definitely not discontinued. I cycled through all the levels this year. These came with the Platinum and Diamond tags. They did not with silver and gold.
I was assisted by 3 very professional Delta employees on Oct.16th at the Tuscon Az. Airport. I was so impressed by the assistance of Veronika Kolomichuk upon entry. Veronika made my check in process far less stressful and was a huge help in directing me. Redcoat Marisol Bustamante and Francesca Guazzo continued in alleviating further complications and a very smooth boarding process. I realize they were trained in each of their jobs, but their help far surpassed what I could have expected. All 3 are such great representatives of your company, so gracious, kind and took on issues that were resolved so smoothly. Thank you ladies, each of you is a phenomenal employee!!
My gratitude overflows and I hope to work with you again one day…
