If you need to book a Carnival Cruise and want to save a few bucks, a new promotion can come in very handy.
Carnival Cruises Amex Offer
Targeted cardholders of select American Express cards can save up to 20% with a new Carnival Cruises promotion with a minimum purchase.
You can earn a one-time $150 statement credit when using your card to spend at least $750 across one or more eligible Carnival Cruises reservation purchases. (You’ll also earn whatever points or cashback applies to your card.)
Purchases must be made in US dollars. Terms apply, manual enrollment is required, and the offer expires on July 24, 2025. You can travel after that date — just make sure to book no later than July 24. (I’d play it safe and not wait much later than, say, July 15 or so.)
Cruise reservations must be booked one of three ways to qualify for the offer:
- at carnival.com
- by calling 1-800-764-7419
- through a Carnival Cruise Line travel advisor
As with most Amex Offers — especially those dealing with airline, hotel, or cruise reservations — there are some a boat load of exclusions (pun fully intended 😉 ).
Specifically excluded:
- Holland America purchases
- Princess Cruises purchases
- Seabourn purchases
- Cunard purchases
- Purchases made onboard cruise ships
- Carnival Bon Voyage presales
- Purchases through the mobile app
- Single and group shore excursions
- Weddings and occasions
- Meetings
- Charters
- Airport transportation
- Fly2Fun
- In-room gifts and shopping add-ons
- The Fun Shops
- Gift card purchases
- Purchases made using third parties, such as resellers, delivery services, or other intermediaries
Here’s the thing, though. If you pre-purchase items such as drink packages and shore excursions through Carnival before your cruise, those should qualify for the offer.

- The Platinum Card® from American Express
- American Express® Gold Card
- Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express
- Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express
- Authorized user on wife’s card
- The Business Platinum Card® from American Express
- Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express
None of my cobranded cards (i.e., Delta SkyMiles® American Express Cards) were targeted.
