Registration is officially open for the Chase Freedom Flex‘s (and legacy Chase Freedom’s) 5% cashback bonus promotion for Q3/July-September 2021!
Chase Freedom Flex 5% Cashback Categories
The Chase Freedom Flex‘s bonus cashback categories for July-September are:
- Grocery stores (excluding Target and Walmart)
- Select streaming services
- Fubo TV
- Apple Music
- YouTube TV
The 5% bonus is applicable to the first $1500 in spending made in those categories between July 1 and September 30. In other words, the most you can earn through that quarter’s promotion is $75 back. (Hey, that’s better than a kick to the head — especially for a no-annual-fee card!)
Consider that the points are potentially worth more than 5X — if you have a Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Sapphire Preferred, or Chase Ink Preferred card. CSR cardholders can redeem points at a 50% bonus when purchasing travel through Chase, essentially making the 5X worth 7.5 cents. The CSP and CIP members, meanwhile, can redeem them for travel at a 25% bonus.
I’ll happily put my Netflix and Hulu/Disney+/ESPN+ bundle subscriptions on the Flex during those three months! And it’ll be our go-to for grocery shopping until we max out the benefit. Holding the Chase Sapphire Reserve gives a 7.5% return. That’s better than the Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express, which is what we normally use for those purchases.
Registration is Required!
Cardholders wishing to use the promotion must manually register for the promotion. So do it now before you forget. Visit ChaseBonus.com. You’ll need the cardholder’s last name, last four digits of the Flex or Freedom card, and the billing zip code.
Registration is open through September 14. That’ll be when the winter holidays’ quarter bonuses are announced. (Can you believe we’re already talking about that?!)
