Delta Air Lines is giving some passengers the opportunity to upgrade from house hooch to something on the display shelves.
Delta travelers visiting the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) Sky Club airport lounges featuring full bar serving can purchase premium alcoholic beverages for a 50% discount. (50% is a pretty deep discount. Did someone place an extra large order or seven from their liquor distributor?)
The lounges are the (wonderful) G18 club, the F/G location, and C club.

The deal is valid for both paid/cash purchases and transactions paid with SkyMiles (at a 1 cent per mile ratio). The promotion runs through May 31, 2024.
What’s the occasion? The promotion is in “Celebration of The Big Thaw Season.” (Here’s a link to the Sky Club drink menu.)
This is a great opportunity to sample some of Delta’s signature drinks, such as the Flower District Margarita (a personal favorite of my wife and mine) or Peanut Butter Old Fashioned, without paying full price. Or just enjoy something perhaps a little tastier than the house beers, wines, and liquors the Sky Clubs offer.
Or treat yourself and some companions to a bottle of wine or champagne!
Which Credit Card to Use?
Which credit card gets you the most points for Sky Club drinks?
As we say, your (Sky)mileage may vary.
At some clubs, I’ve used my Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card card to buy drinks. I think it was the Austin Sky Club where I earned bonus points for a Delta purchase.
Other times, those don’t credit as Delta purchases and I got 1X per dollar spent.
We hear mixed results with both The Platinum Card® from American Express and The Business Platinum Card® from American Express.
Both offer primary cardholders up to $200 back in statement credit for eligible airline incidental purchases each year. (Enrollment is required and terms apply.)
My Sky Club bar purchases never counted toward the airline incidental credit. Others have told me they earned the statement credit.
