I wonder if Internet personality Deviant Ollam will have some trouble entering Delta Sky Clubs from now on.
The Delta Diamond Medallion recorded a video inside the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) Central Terminal’s Sky Club detailing his disgust with Delta’s SkyMiles 2025 changes. He also announces which airline has the first crack at his loyalty.
At one point, he references Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian’s comments that Delta will modify some of the changes — but nothing has yet been announced. He likens that move to an abusive relationship. (By the way, this is hardly the first time I’ve heard someone either use the term “abusive relationship” or intimate it when discussing their loyalty to Delta.)
As anyone knows in any…relationship, if you had an intimate partner who, like, raised their hand in anger and even if they didn’t hit you and even if later you start packing your stuff to leave, and they’re, like, “Oh, baby, you know I would never have actually hit you! I wasn’t going to do it! It’s just been a real hard time at work…”
The time to leave is then. You don’t you don’t wait for them to actually hit you in the face. All you need is the sign that they wanted to.
And that’s what all of us at Delta in the customer base have determined. You know, like, just because they say “Oh we’re…going to delay those implementations and we’re going to maybe moderate it down,” that just means they’re going to nickel and dime us for the next however many years until they go where they want to go. And where they want to go is to make their tiers of status unavailable to anyone but the uber-rich.
(That’s something we’ve talked about on this blog.)
He also shows how he stood outside and inside an Alaska Lounge, holding a sign detailing how he’s upset with Delta — and wants customer input about Alaska.
Finally, he name-checks several Delta employees he’s going to miss seeing on a regular basis.
The video is embedded below and here’s a link to it. Be aware there is some language some viewers may find NSFW.

Domestic violence might be a bit much?
Anyway, he’s right about the people! Last month, I flew to Japan and they booked me on Alaska to SEA then Korean Air. Alaska lost part of my luggage (from a 1 hour flight?) but Korean was amazing, even in peasant class. Both transpacific flights, the purser sought me out early on to thank me for being Gold and a Million Miles. Whoa! On the way back, she asked if I wanted anythig and I joked about “hey, maybe a double bourbon the rocks?”. She chuckled but… once at cruising altitude, I found a drink in my hand.
So…. Delta boo, Skyteam yay!
Take away his Diamond Medallion status and ban him from SkyClubs.
You sound very rational and kind. People must absolutely enjoy being around you. Will you be my friend?
I’m so happy at all of the response this video has gotten thus far. My inbox and my DMs, which are never quiet, are both particularly overflowing today, hah. I will be in the Delta SkyClub again today, since I’m flying back to my Nevada office. We’ll see what kind of a reception i get, heh. 🙂
Keep us apprised!
yes, do keep us posted, DO!
one time I was on Alaska out of Seattle and there was a snafu for my flight home to Boise. Checked in on Twitter and Alaska called me. Got my info and said they’d fix it… for a price. Price? Stand on my chair in SEA and yell “Go Mariners!!” Wasn’t even baseball season. By then my routing was fixed! Not sure if they still use Twitter (but I really miss the great folks on Delta’s twitter, reminding me of another way Delta annoyed me.)
p.s.being Seattle, nobody even seemed to notice my yell, LOL.
