At long last, the famous Delta Air Lines Delta One dessert cart will grace the aisles of select flights.

The airline made the announcement early Thursday afternoon.

Delta One has featured pre-made desserts since the COVID-19 pandemic’s major onset almost three years ago. The dessert cart generally offers passengers a selection of fruit, cheese, cake, and made-to-order ice cream sundaes.

The cart is available on international flights.

In other Delta food news, the airline will introduce La Fête du Rosé, a premium rosé. Plus, Tip Top Proper Cocktails — creators of the tasty Old Fashioneds and margaritas served on Delta flights — will debut an Espresso Martini in March.

Roots member Questlove brings his Impossible (meatless) cheesesteak to Delta. And New York’s Gramercy Tavern fare such as kielbasa with crushed fingerling potatoes, brussels sprouts, and Dijon mustard will also be available in select Delta One and First Class cabins.

Cheers and bon appétit!

Why only on “select flights?” Business is very good. Profits are great. The International FA’s are seasoned (not new hires) and know how to handle the cart. Why only “select flights?”

I suppose a $20 wine is “premium” when you’re currently serving $5 wine in Delta One, but La Fête is nothing more than mediocre rose marked up for the woke crowd who want me to support their virtue-signaling Black, Indigenous and People of Color business.

Chris, here is one data point. We just flew JFK – EDI in Delta One on 1/17 and there was no dessert cart. I will provide an update for our return flight on 1/25.

Thanks. I’m guessing this might be back in place some time next month or March.

Excited, but with some trepidation, about the return of the dessert cart and accompanying beverages. On a flight in 2019 I made the mistake of asking for a glass of port. Turned out that I was the only one partaking in the port and the FA (unilaterally) decided that I should consume the entire 375ml bottle over the course of the 9 hour flight. Even while napping I would awaken to find he’d topped off my glass. Good service or a recipe for a hangover?!?

I once told a Delta flight attendant that I would be perfectly content as long as there was a little bit of scotch in my glass. I drifted in and out of sleep for the next eight hours and each time I awoke there was new ice and more whisky! The whole crew up front was great.

As a delta flight attendant I can tell all of you that on the”flagship” 350 he desert cart coming back is a logistical nightmare! Never worked before and won’t work this time again. Any wonder it’s the most junior crew members who always get stuck up front? Not to me. Horrible aircraft, horrible catering. No One EVER works delta one by choice!

Thanks for the insight, Ellen! What specifically about the cart are so troublesome? (Not challenging you here — I’m genuinely interested and love learning about these kinds of things!)
