Curious how your reading habits affected the blog last month? 😉
From number 1 to 10, here are October 2019’s most-read posts at Rene’s Points!
(By the way: it’s never too late to leave feedback, so feel free to comment and share!)
All Passengers on a Delta 757 Upgraded to First Class!
Our most popular post this month detailed a flight enjoyed by reader Coining203. For a while, it looks as though he’d be the only one aboard Delta #1013. A few other passengers boarded during a delay, though. But there were more than enough first class seats to go around.
Read his story — and find out why briefly relocated to coach.
What are the Most Irritating Things People do When Flying? Here is my “Top 10” Rant list!
A classic René Rant was October’s second most popular post.
From feet (on walls and seats) to nails (being painted or clipped) to assorted other nuisances, find out what annoys René (at least on flights 😉 ). Add your favorite irritants to that post’s Comments section!
Is the old British Air A380 Club World Really the WORST Business Class Seat? (Spoiler Alert: Never Flying it Again)!
René was so excited about flying British Airways’ A380 business class product. Before his trip, he told me several times how much he looked forward to the trip.
Then he and his awesome wife Lisa actually boarded the flight.
It didn’t go well.
Find out why René isn’t so hot on BA’s A380 biz class.
WHOA! Nearly $10,000 MQD and More Than 36,000 MQM! Business Class Mileage Run from JFK to Sydney!
MQD runs are all the rage these days. On the way home from the Chicago Seminars — where I received plenty of grief for not posting more China Eastern runs — I found this gem.
(Hat tip to my good friend Carol for her China Eastern expertise.)
No, Delta is NOT Going to Copy United’s New Elite Qualify Program. Why Do You Ask?
Speaking of Chicago Seminars, a topic hotly discussed (at least in some of the conversations of which I was a part) was United’s massive change to their frequent flyer program.
Read why Rene thinks Delta SkyMiles members need not worry.
SICK: Southwest Pilots Accused of Planting a Hidden Camera in a Plane’s Bathroom
This story gets stranger with each new detail.
And that’s saying something for a topic involving hidden cameras pilots (allegedly) placed in an airplane’s lav.
Southwest insists the whole thing was a practical joke. This post discusses what started the whole situation.
Why Delta Flyers Should Consider Getting the New American Express® Green Card
American Express rebranded its classic Green Card last month. Here’s why this is noteworthy:
It matches the Chase Sapphire Reserve®‘s 3X on travel and restaurants — but with an annual fee that’s $300 cheaper.
The Green Card also includes annual $199 CLEAR Plus Membership and $100 Lounge Buddy credits.
Read why I think Delta customers should think about adding the Green Card to their wallets.
Is Delta SkyMiles Select Worth $59? Are There Better Options?
Main Cabin 1 boarding, eight drink tickets, and a brag tag are all part of Delta SkyMiles Select. Here’s why its $59 fee might be worth it for some Medallions.
And as I wrote Friday, SkyMiles Select credits back to your American Express airline incidental credit.
Mileage Run from Atlanta: 29,324 Delta MQM & $5864 MQD to Johannesburg in Virgin Atlantic Premium Economy!
I truly love finding mileage runs and writing about them.
ATL has a dearth of Medallions because of Delta’s near-monopoly. But Delta’s saturation in that market — similar to DTW, MSP, and SLC — makes it difficult to unearth any exceptional mileage runs. So when this one popped up, Atlanta flyers seized on it.
I’m still searching for you, ATL folks!
And never forget the Juicy Miles mileage run team who works full time (and then some) creating customized mileage runs.
A Mileage Run Without Getting On a Plane? Yes!
Our tenth most-read post this month also had to do with mileage runs — except this one doesn’t make you board a flight.
There still are some good MQM welcome offers for the Delta Reserve personal/consumer card and Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card.
Both are offering 10,000 MQM right now as part of their bonuses.
Need 10,000 MQM but have the personal Reserve? Get the Business flavor.
Or if you have the business version but haven’t yet held the consumer product, now might be the time to get it.
Thanks!
Thank you for a great October!
