One of the biggest complaints about cruise ships is during sea days it can be all but impossible to find a deck chair. And even when you do they are packed in tight and the area is loud with kids everywhere and service by the pool staff, due to so many people around, can be hit and miss. There is, for a fee, a solution to this problem.
That is the adults only Vibe beach club that is available on most NCL cruise ships and is slowly coming to almost all of them. It is a private key card only access sun deck.
You not only have lounge chairs, with soft cushions, but also umbrellas and even for an additional fee private cabanas to enjoy.
Add in a bar with, most times of the day, two bartenders on staff as well as two floating staff to assist you with towels and drinks.
How much is the fee to enjoy this private oasis? As little as $25 per day but that price can range much higher depending on the cruise. You can get a pass for just specific days of you cruise rather than the entire cruise. Just be aware that it is limited capacity and many book for the whole cruise so availability for specific days may be limited or cost more.
Also for an additional fee you can reserve a cabana. You do not get a specific cabana but just access to one as well as Vibe beach club access as well for all those in your cabin. For my wife and I for this 15 day crossing we paid just $47 / per day for both access and a cabana and we found it an amazing value with 8 sea days for this crossing.
The staff was simply outstanding and took such great care of us and we tipped them accordingly. You can see a full 5 minute video review of the Vibe next:
The only other option, on many NCL ships, is Spice H20 that is also an adults only sun deck area with hot tubs and a bar (see my video review here). The downside of this space is no cushions on the chairs, much fewer umbrellas and a smoking allowed area by the bar – all major negatives for me.
Have you booked and enjoy the Vibe beach club on the Viva or another NCL ship? Was it worth the upcharge for you? – René
