Lyft users can save $15 on select gift card purchases for themselves or others, thanks to a new, limited-time promotion. It appears to be targeted.
Lyft Father’s Day Gift Card Promotion
Through June 15, 2025, you can receive a $15 bonus when you spend at least $85 on a gift card purchase through Lyft. (i.e., buy $85, get $100). You can send the gift card by email or text message. You can use the offer once per account and supplies are limited. Terms apply.
This email alerted me to the promotion.
I opted in and saw this message in my Lyft app.
I did the same thing for their Mother’s Day promotion and bought a $100 gift card, earning a $15 bonus.
My father-in-law’s Lyft account apparently did not receive the offer, so it might be targeted.
Save $10 More!
I bought the Mother’s Day gift card with my Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card to see if the card’s monthly rideshare credit might kick in. Cardholders can earn up to $10 in statement credits each month (up to $120 annually) on U.S. rideshare purchases made with Uber, Lyft, Curb, Revel, and Alto. Enrollment is required and terms apply.
Three other Delta Amexes feature the rideshare credit:
- Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card
- Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card
- Delta SkyMiles® Business Platinum American Express Card
Sure enough, I received a $10 credit! So, I scored a $115 gift card for just $85!

I didn’t get the promotion.
FYI, Costco sells “Uber – Two $50 eGift Cards” for $79.99, and it seems that Costco has them on sale often for $74.99. Over the weekend I purchased $200 in Uber gift cards for $149.98, but the $5 off sale ended Sunday. I actually prefer Lyft over Uber, but since I get a monthly Uber credit from my AMEX Platinum card, it’s nice to have discounted Uber Cash to pay the balance. As long as the Platinum card is my primary payment source, the AMEX credit is applied first, and then the Uber Cash balance second.
