Lyft users can save $15 on select gift card purchases for themselves or others, thanks to a new, limited-time promotion. It appears to be targeted.
Lyft Mother’s Day Gift Card Promotion
Through May 11, 2025, you can receive a $15 bonus when you spend at least $85 on a gift card purchase through Lyft. (i.e., buy $85, get $100). You can send the gift card by email or text message. You can use the offer once per account and supplies are limited. Terms apply.
This email alerted me to the promotion.
I opted in and saw this message in my Lyft app.
I purchased a $100 gift card, ultimately receiving a $115 gift card. I sent the gift card to myself because I’ll definitely use it soon.
My father-in-law’s Lyft account apparently did not receive the offer, so it might be targeted.
Save $10 More?
I bought the gift card with my Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card to see if the card’s monthly rideshare credit might kick in. Cardholders can earn up to $10 in statement credits each month (up to $120 annually) on U.S. rideshare purchases made with Uber, Lyft, Curb, Revel, and Alto. Enrollment is required and terms apply. I’ll update the post when/if the statement credit applies.
Three other Delta Amexes feature the rideshare credit:
- Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card
- Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card
- Delta SkyMiles® Business Platinum American Express Card
Worst case scenario: I paid $100 for $115 in Lyft rides. Best case: I end up paying $90 for $115.
Final Approach
A Mother’s Day promotion from Lyft allows users to earn a bonus $15 on gift card purchases of $85 or more. Did you receive the offer?
