An irate Delta Air Lines passenger bullied airline employees and fellow travelers at Hartsfield-Jackson Intl Airport (ATL) in one of the more egregious displays of disrespect. And it was all recorded.
Atlanta Passenger Freak Out
The unidentified passenger apparently tried flying to Rochester, NY, aboard Delta #2097 on Sunday, December 31.
Instagram user “@marialovesu” who claims to be an eyewitness said:
(The) plane to Rochester broke down, everyone has {sic} to move to another gate, they were waiting on another plane to arrive, flight would be delayed by 1 hour. She became irritate {sic} stating she had to make it to Rochester on time for a medical appointment, disgruntled flight would be late. {sic}
They called for a medical emergency and police which took over 20 mins to arrive
My guess is that the woman’s behavior is what triggered her ejection from the flight. However, she also screamed to everyone that she was “bleeding in a f—ing diaper” and menstruating.
Naturally, she demands to speak to a manager. (She apparently didn’t know that the Delta Red Coats in front of them can sometimes make magic happen.)
She berates the Delta employees, calling them:
- “f—ing terrible”
- “moron”
- “stupid b—h”
She added that they should also “be ashamed of (them)selves.” She also insisted the police be called and that someone should call 911.
There’s a point in the video when one of the gate agents appears to motion to the person recording that they should stop. (They didn’t.)
The Delta employees did an amazing job of keeping their composure. Like, very Strive for Five. They obviously knew they were being recorded in a video that would probably go viral. But their calm demeanor really stands out — especially in contrast the passenger screaming her head off at them.
“I’ve never seen that level of professionalism and poise in such a hostile situation,” @marialovesu wrote — before admonishing someone else.
“I do feel the response from ATL Police was beyond pitiful. They really put the Delta staff in a very difficult situation for way too long. It was disappointing and travelers felt unsafe.”
A police officer arrived and escorted “Karen” out of the gate area — to much cheering and applause.

Final Approach
A Delta Air Lines passenger apparently lost her cool and was not allowed to fly from Atlanta to Rochester (NY) this past weekend. She behaved appallingly toward Delta employees and travelers.
Remember, folks, if you want to yell and scream, there’s probably a camera nearby — and the whole world will find out.

Wi-Sick strikes again!
Another background comment from that same instagram commenter:
“everyone had to deplane the initial flight. She became very agitated and aggressive towards staff and other travelers. Other travelers complained, she was not allowed to board new plane, was told she would be booked on another flight at 10pm, that’s when the video starts”
BTW, what’s up with the B Concourse at ATL. Some of the commenters on the instagram who work there talk about it having a reputation, being tough to work, especially ‘B South.’
That makes more sense with the added comment about the video starting after she was told she wouldn’t be allowed on that flight. The signs in the background clearly indicate that flight 2907 has already ended boarding, which seemed odd with articles just saying that she was mad about a flight delay.
