Rejoice, you Southwest Airlines travelers who fly through Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW): you’re getting an airport lounge!
WGN reports that the 3,300-square-foot lounge will open sometime next year. It will be a “The Club”-branded lounge.
The Club MDW will be located between Concourse A and Concourse B — smack dab between the gates Southwest uses.
Anyone can enter, provided they plunk down $50 for a pass.

The Club lounges are generally poor. Grab a couple Coke Zero cans and that’s about it. The wine is $7-9 wine and the food is borderline inedible, at least at the Pittsburgh and Cleveland locations.
It’s hard to get too excited about a “The Club” opening, but I often choose to fly out of ORD even when MDW is locationally preferable, simply to have access to a lounge. With Chicago traffic I almost always end up at the airport early fearing that I might get delayed en route.
The one nice thing about MDW is same-day change with ORD. Same for Fort Lauderdale-Miami, the New York airports and Reagan, Dulles and Baltimore.
