Good things are happening for Delta Air Lines passengers at LAX.
Delta opened up a new Terminal 3 head house and check-in areas, security screening lanes, and a gorgeous new Sky Club (which isn’t immune to the long lines we’ve seen elsewhere. Here’s the scene on Monday.)
Plus, the airline just opened several gates in its brand-spankin’-new Terminal 3.
But all of the construction isn’t quite complete (although, it’s very much ahead of schedule.)
While Delta works on an airside connection to the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT), it still operates several domestic and international flights from TBIT. (The Bradley terminal is also where you’ll find LAX’s American Express Centurion Lounge.)
And that means a bus ride from Terminal 2. (FYI, TBIT gates are three digits long and in the 100s or 200s, i.e., 131 or 205.)
This is nothing new — it’s been going on since about 2017.
But the shuttle bus departure point has changed several times. And it recently moved again.
Where is the Terminal 2 Delta Shuttle Bus at LAX Now?
It’s no longer at Gate 21.
No, no. It’s at an even more crowded purgatory: between Gates 24 and 26. (As you can see from the image above, it’s near the SeaLegs restaurant.)
It’s the spot where the hardstand shuttle buses departed and arrived before Delta mercifully opened three T3 gates in late May.
A Delta rep serves as a door person and guards the velvet rope. (OK, it’s just a standard nylon line divider.) The agent asks for your TBIT gate number and then grants you access to the bus.
Delta’s LAX station manager told us a couple of weeks ago that he plans to shut down a few T2 gates for remodeling. This will continue on a rolling basis until that phase of the project is complete. I expect the shuttle bus location to move at least once more until the TBIT connector is operational.
And as we mentioned in a previous post, the T3 to TBIT connector is slated for completion sometime next year. But an LAX source suggested we not be surprised if that is extended into 2024. That apparently has nothing to do with Delta — it’s simply a matter of existing “surprises” crews are encountering along the way.

Will get to take the bus next month..Can’t wait..Someday all the gates will be connected!!
Why do they label it ‘Terminal B’ on the sign – confusing – it’s TBIT or just call it shuttle to Gates XXX-XXX
How dare you use reasoning and logic toward something in Los Angeles.
Tell us how to get from B to 2, there are zero signs in that direction.
Walk toward bus gates 136-141. Board bus to T2.
