Well, here’s a nice Delta MQD score — while enjoying business class lie-flat seats.

This Vancouver to Seoul business class mileage run on AeroMexico is estimated to travel 20,114 miles. (Estimate via Unofficial SkyMiles Calculator.) Because Delta credits partner flights based on a combination of distance flown and fare class, this trip is estimated to bring you a huge $8045.60 MQD and 30,172 MQM. Plus 40,228 redeemable SkyMiles.

That doesn’t stink. Heck, flying it twice gives you enough MQD to make Diamond.

The cost is $3350.66 CAN — approximately $2527.07 USD. So you’re earning 3.18 times that amount in MQD!

While it’s a little spendy, consider that one of these runs gets you far more MQD, MQM, and redeemable SkyMiles than flying several Delta domestic Main Cabin mileage runs instead for about the same total price.

If you have Membership Rewards points, consider booking with Juicy Miles. Their new American Express partnership might save you a lot of money.

Like most AeroMexico business class mileage runs we post, these are Y-UP fares. There have been, in the past, some issues with getting correct credit with Y-UPs from AeroMexico. Data points suggest this problem has been fixed — but be sure to save all your boarding passes and follow these steps to make sure you get correct credit!

Dates and Stay Length

I only searched for trip durations of 0-2 days. Some dates were quick turns, while others allowed (or even required) one or two-night stays.

Example itinerary of a Vancouver to Seoul business class mileage run on AeroMexico for Delta MQD.

There are a TON of available dates through the end of the year. The only exceptions are June and July. And even then, the price is something like $90 USD more expensive.

2020 dates for a Vancouver to Seoul business class mileage run on AeroMexico for Delta MQD.

  • Cost: $3350.66 CAN / ~ $2527.07 USD
  • Dates: Varies. (See calendar above.)
  • Route: YVR-MEX-ICN-MEX-YVR
  • MQM: Estimated 30,172 MQM (8.4 CPM)
  • MQD: Estimated $8045.60 (3.18 X)
  • Base SkyMiles: Estimated 40,228 (plus applicable Medallion bonus)

This (and most Aeromexico) run goes through Mexico City, which has a Centurion Lounge (read Rene’s review). So if you don’t yet have a Platinum Card® from American Express or Business Platinum Card® from American Express to get you into the Centurion Lounge, now would be a great time to consider applying.

Booking the Flight

You can book the trip through AeroMexico or an OTA.

If you’re understandably a little apprehensive about booking MQD runs and making sure you get the right fare class, it’s worth your time and money to consult Juicy Miles. They have a Delta expert who will personally handle your request.

They have a staff of fellow mileage run nerds like us who want to make sure you get every single MQD and mile possible.

    Chris,

Thanks for this, for us in the Mid West, Toronto is almost as good, a few bucks more ($3471 CDN, $2617 USD) and a few less MQD (7622) but much more accessable.
