If you need a Delta MQD mileage run (especially now that China Eastern runs are pretty much done-zo for a while), look a little north of the border. AeroMexico has some nice options to Paris (via Mexico City) yielding a chunk of MQD and MQM — for just over $2100 USD.
This run from Vancouver yields about the same MQD, MQD, and SkyMiles as the YVR to Amsterdam run we recently posted (which is still alive as of this post’s publication date and time).
Some dates require quick turns, while others allow you to stay a day or two in Paris!
The trip travels 16,452 miles (according to the Unofficial SkyMiles Calculator). Thanks to how Delta awards partner travel when you credit it to your SkyMiles account, this trip is estimated to earn you $6580 MQD and 24,678 MQM! Plus, it should earn approximately 32,904 base SkyMiles — before any applicable Medallion bonuses.
The trip travels YVR-MEX-CDG-MEX-YVR. Flights between Mexico City are Paris are scheduled on 787-900s — with lie-flat seats!
As with most AeroMexico runs we post, these are Y-UP fares. There have been, in the past, some issues with getting correct credit with Y-UPs from AeroMexico. Data points suggest this problem has been fixed — but be sure to save all your boarding passes and follow these steps to make sure you get correct credit!
- Cost: $2,7870.26 CAN / ~ $2160.79 USD
- Dates: Varies. (See calendar above.)
- Route: YVR-MEX-CDG-MEX-YVR
- MQM: 24,678 MQM (8.8 CPM)
- MQD: $6580
- Base SkyMiles: 32,904 (plus applicable Medallion bonus)
This (and most Aeromexico) run goes through Mexico City, which has a Centurion Lounge (read Rene’s review). So if you don’t yet have a Platinum Card® from American Express or Business Platinum Card® from American Express to get you into the Centurion Lounge, now would be a great time to consider applying.
