Delta Employee Gets Married at a Sky Club. Where Would You Get Married (Again)?

Most people don’t want to be at work on their wedding days. But Delta Air Lines employee Sara Lora and her groom were married at the concourse B Sky Club at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) yesterday.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution‘s Kelly Yamanouchi writes that the couple’s nuptials are believed to be the first ever at a Sky Club.

How did the happy couple meet? At another B Sky Club, of course. (No word if it was the club near B10 or one by B25).

Lora met her now-husband Cody Kaufman at a Sky Club on the same concourse six years ago. He was headed to Montana for a hunting trip; she was on a work-related trip to Latin America.

Kaufman had a plate from the Sky Club buffet, and Lora asked how he liked the food — and gave her business card to the frequent flier, offering to help with anything he might need since she works for Delta.

From that point, they were “always crisscrossing” with their travels, Lora said.

Don’t get too excited though, Sky Club enthusiasts: “Other less-conventional wedding sites such as the Sky Club or on flights are not actual wedding venues that couples can book,” Ms. Yamanouchi explains. “Instead, employees or others can request special access to get married in a place normally used for travel.”

Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Kaufman!

Would (Or Did) You Get Married at a Travel-Themed Venue?

Would (or did) you tie the knot at an airport lounge? Get hitched aboard a flight? Say “I do” at an aviation-themed museum or someplace similar? Tell us in the Comment section below!

That’s very cute and appropriate for a couple that met in SkyClub and work for Delta.
