The problem is, when you take the 9 gift cards to the next step i.e. in booking a ticket, you get the above error.
I believe the reason for the error is that when you go to check-out and buy a ticket on Delta.com you are still only offered the option to use a maximum of 3 gift cards per reservation.
But could the above change that Mr. Gator found be a sign of things to come? I really hope so.

@Rene. Two points. How did you get the gift cards into your wallet on delta.com? I thought this was still impossible. And second, working with a rep I tried to use 12 gift cards to buy 2 Delta tickets (for myself and spouse) just 2 weeks ago. At first the rep said no problem, but after lots of attempts she came back to me and said, sorry – 3 max per ticket, have to split the record and use only 3 gift cards per ticket, so I was able to only use 6 of my 12. Initially the rep thought I could use all of them. Bad rep? What are the key words to say if indeed one can use more than 3 per ticket. Thanks.
@Don in ATL – There is no way to get them into your “My Wallat” sad to say. That would be a HUGE “enhancement” from Delta if we could. I would try twitter next time vs calling.

The gift cards at once feature at delta(dot)com/redeem has been around since late 2017
@Snorklez – Yes, but 9 at once? Not that I have seen.
is this someone we can do now, or do we have to wait until we are in the process of booking a ticket on delta?
@Marcia – At booking.

I have used 5 gift cards on one ticket before by calling in, last year. Might have been the rep. But their IT changes so much, who knows.
