Totals and results (was it worth it)?

When you land after 10 PM at night at most airports you have few choices of lounges, but the AeroMexico Skyteam (and others like Priority Pass that you can get from cards like the non-Delta AMEX Platinum card) is open until 1:AM.

Once you clear security look for the above and take the elevator one level up to the lounge entrance.

It will be the first lounge on the right (the AMEX Centurion Lounge is next btw).

This is an interesting lounge. You have the main area you see above with a small circular full service bar.

Straight ahead a small cubby room with a guy and panini press making sliders (when we were there). And far left another cubby room that looks like cafeteria seating.

Lavatories are immediately to your right when you enter and they were having some flooding issues during our visit.

There is a spa that charges for treatment. I am not a fan of a lounge that charges you at the door (one way or the other) then charges you again for services or food or drinks.

The computer work area is very near the food service station and is wide open. No privacy here. Also wifi speed was so slow that my 2G phone connection was faster. It was all but worthless!

The seating also leaves something to be desired and was rather tired. This lounge could really use a refresh.

In addition to the full service bar there is a self service area with a number of choices. My favorite was top left (click on the photo to see it full screen and see my choice).

In addition to a number of cold beer choices, soda and juice options and the staff did a nice job keeping it and the food / snack area well stocked.

I really was not expecting too much from the lounge after reading others’ reviews. It is somewhat of a break away from the gate area and support when you need it traveling on Skyteam. I should have really gone next door before they closed.

But I was somewhat time confused and thought the AMEX lounge had already closed by the time we got to the AeroMexico lounge. A free 15 minute massage would have been nice! Plus, as you will see in the next installment, we did not have a chance to check the Centurion out on our return due to the very tight connection. – René

As a regular in MEX, I certainly do prefer the Centurion lounge over Aeromexico but Centurion charges for meals.

A good lounge they is a great escape is the Beyond lounge by Citi dba Banamex which you can enter with any premium card (Citi Premier and up), however it is operated and managed by Aeromexico. But it offers hot meals for free.
