I received a rather pleasant surprise while opening my usual stack of junk mail.
When I saw the Southwest Rapid Rewards logo in the upper lefthand corner, I figured it was a sales pitch for their credit card offers. Or maybe some offer from their vacation partners.
Nope!
I opened the envelope picture above — just to make sure nothing important was inside.
Lo and behold:

Hooray! Southwest Airlines drink tickets! What a lovely surprise! I don’t have Southwest status or a Southwest credit card (though I really, really, really want one. Chase: let’s revisit this 5/24 madness, yes?)
So, if you see a similar letter — and didn’t shred it before opening — make sure to open the envelope. Even if you don’t drink, you can always buy someone else a beverage.

If I ever step foot on another Southwest flight, I’ve made some terrible life choices.
That envelope went straight into the trash.
I have about 110k SW rewards points I would like to light on fire and celebrate that I will never take another flight on that POS airlines. Any ideas?
@Dave – Gift cards? Many years ago I did that as I have, as then, zero interest to ever fly WN.
Good idea. I will check it out.
@Dave – The valuation may have changed dramatically since then fyi. Think it was near 1 cent back then.
