Some Delta Air Lines SkyMiles Medallion members are seeing their final batch of rollover Medallion Qualification Miles (MQM) showing up in their accounts.
A friend tipped me off to this and added that only Diamond and Platinum Medallions (as of this writing) are receiving rollover MQM.
However, the MQM numbers are available only on Delta.com — not the Fly Delta app.
To see your total, log in to your SkyMiles account at Delta.com. Click “My SkyMiles.”
Once you’re on the “My SkyMiles” page, click “Account Activity.”
You’ll see a list of any recent SkyMiles and Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQD) earnings. Scroll down to January 1, 2024. Click the arrow on the box that says “Rollover MQMs.”
We won’t be able to do anything with our MQM until late-February. Medallion members who qualified for 2024 status can any, some, or all of three options to redeem their rollover MQM.
- Extend your 2024 Medallion status for 100,000 rollover MQM per year — with no limit on how long you can extend it (MQM balance permitting)
- Convert them to Medallion Qualification Dollars at a 10:1 ratio (i.e., 10,000 MQM = $1,000 MQD)
- Convert them to redeemable SkyMiles at a 2:1 ratio (i.e., 10,000 MQM = 5,000 SkyMiles)
Medallion members will have until December 31, 2024, to make their choice(s). I plan to wait until later in the year.
Gold and Silver Medallions: would you please let us know in the Comments section when you start seeing your rollover MQM?

I am DM and I can see my rollover correctly posted in my account. Spouse is Silver and no rollover showing yet.
I am DM and I can see my rollover correctly as well
I am DM and see 650K rollover miles posted in my account.
Nice! What do you plan to do with those MQM?
I would convert first 100K for next year status and avail choice benefits, if allowed. Not sure though how many conversions of MQM’s will be allowed and if we will be eligible for choice benefits.
Delta told me last year that Choice Benefits will be included.
Hey Chris,
Just Flew MCO-ATL-IAH / DFW-ATL-MCO and it appears the MCO-ATL-MCO flights are no longer posting the minimum 500 but rather the exact mileage toward MM status. Did you address this already? I am at 1.87 and trying to reach 2MM by 01/26. I guess avoiding ATL going forward if I am not going to receive the minimum of 500 miles.
Side note: Where do we go now to get exact miles? Even my flights to IAH & DFW are off by a few miles and I want to update my spreadsheet.
From everything we’ve heard and seen, the 500-mile minimum is dead. When you book a flight, the details for each leg show the distance. Good post idea, thanks.
Well… what they say are going to post versus what does post is a mystery. I can share some examples from my last trip if you email me directly. You can use these for your post. They are off by about 7 miles and I cant now tell which leg(s) are being shortened.
I’m a DM and I only see a little over half of what I had as of Dec 31st!! Will they only go back a certain number of years?
They subtracted for whatever status you earned for this year.
So, if one has Diamond status in 2024 and over 200K in rollover MQMs to use for Diamond in 2025 and 2026, is there any advantage to using Delta AMEX for non-Delta travel spend other than earning Sky-pennies? What are the +/- on using the remainder of the rollovers to convert?
“is there any advantage to using Delta AMEX for non-Delta travel spend other than earning Sky-pennies?”
Not as far as I can tell. Not using Delta Amexes is on my to-do list for posts.
Seems AMEX might not like this rollover impact from high spenders who charged their way to Platinum or Diamond status and had 100Ks of rollover MQMs? No real incentive to use it much other than directly on Delta tickets…
Perhaps. But some people will keep the cards for lounge access and/or because the Platinum and Reserve cards give cardholders $2,500 MQD per.
Plus, I spent $30,000 last year and got Platinum because of the MQD Waiver (may it rest in peace.). There is no way in hell I’m spending $150,000 on a Reserve card to get Platinum Medallion. I think they factored that in when making their decisions. The people who spent $250,000 to earn Diamond can probably afford to pay whatever Delta requires for Diamond as the MQD requirements go up over the years.
$75k for unlimited 2025 SC access. And then if you want the next threshold would be $125k spend (less what you spend on DL flights) to get PM CBs.
I’m a PM and can see mine posted
Maybe I missed this, but in Dec 2023 I had over 200k MQM but I only see 101k rolled over? Do you know why this is?
Do they take some MQM for your status for 2024.
Thanks
“Do they take some MQM for your status for 2024.”
Yep!
Thanks for the clarification. Appreciate your posts.
My MQMs are visible. I just got over the magic 100,000 with 104,517.
What’s Medallion status?
PM and my rollover MQMs are posted as of today.
Thanks for the heads up–I wouldn’t have thought to look that far down. I am “DM” not really but that’s what they say–and all my MQMs have posted. I have over 300k-so will definitely wait to see what this year brings–and what you and Renee advise. So appreciate all your great insight
I’m waiting until later this year to see how things shake out with my travel.
I received my 316K MQM rollovers. I’m going to convert enough for DM status as soon as its available. For the first time in years, I’m only PM for 2024, and using 100K chunks to extend that makes no sense because I’m now PM for life anyway. I’ll convert enough MQMs asap so that I have DM status for most of 2024 and thru Jan of 2026. This year I’ll also be testing the free agent waters. I’ve done a status match on Alaska that got me the top level (MVP 100K) thru 2024. I likely won’t be flying Alaska metal much but I’m attracted to the OneWorld Alliance carriers and my Alaska status gets me OneWorld Emerald status, which is the top. This month I flew Qantas domestically within Australia, and the perks such as special ticket counter, expedited security line, airport club (a guest can always be brought in too), priority boarding etc all actually exceeded my expectation.
I believe you can only upgrade your current status. So you might only be able to extend PM and you would have to earn DM organically.
Hi Frankie – unless I’ve got it wrong, when it becomes available if I convert enough MQMs to MQDs for 2025 Diamond status (which would require converting 280,000 MQMs minus what I already have for 2024 MQDs), I will immediately become a Diamond for the rest of this year plus in 2025. If I’m wrong about this, I would appreciate someone letting me know. Thanks.
Do we know what happens if you use your MQM for more years of Diamond and also end up earning Diamond by requalifying? Does it extend another year? I haven’t seen answers on this.
E.g. if I have 300k MQM and opt to use it for additional years of Diamond status, but earn Diamond the MQD way, do I have 4 years of Diamond or still only 3?
I believe it won’t extend another year.
I’m PM and can see my rollover MQMs. The site spooked me at first because I saw “Gold Medallion.” But that’s my current tentative 2025 status. I’ll choose the option to renew as Platinum later this year. I wonder if Delta will send a reminder.
We will probably blog a few reminders 🙂
Interestingly Delta did NOT deduct any MQM’s for my 2024 status from my YE 2023 balance. I should be dropping from Diamond to Platinum for 2024 as I failed to hit the MQD spending. Both the website and app have been showing that I’m Diamond for 2024. I’ll be curious to see if Delta deducts the 75k or 125k MQMs at some point and if my status will change to Platinum for 2024 as of 2/1/24. I saw TPG posted that Delta has extended Diamond and Platinum status in 2024 for some members that failed to re-qualify and that some were getting emails letting them know. I’ve not received anything from Delta.
I am DM and I see it. I hope this isn’t going to be the final way they show them. When I first saw your article I thought you meant they were on the main My SkyMiles page near the MQD total!
My MQD in the app is way behind the total I see on the web page.
What happens if you convert MQM’s to extend current status AND you also earn that status organically this year. Does it “stack” an additional year, or have you essentially wasted the conversion?
Example: You’re currently Platinum Medallion through Jan. 2025. In March 2024 you convert 100,000 MQM’s to extend a year of PM. Based on this conversion you will remain PM Feb. 2025 through Jan. 2026. During calendar year 2024 you also earn enough MQD’s to qualify for PM for Feb. 2025 through Jan. 2026.
Will your MQM conversion + the organic earning mean you’ll remain PM through Jan. 2027? Or will you “lose” one of those years (you can think of it as either losing the MQM conversion year, or the organically-earned year)?
If you “lose” one of those years, it would be a big disincentive to organic earning for those who convert MQM’s to extend their medallion status.
I’m going to ask a Delta communications person.
Sorry for being a few days late to this post…i have something i would love for you to add to your questions for Delta comms:
This is scenario of converting some MQMs to MQDs AND some MQMs for status extension. If the MQM to MQD conversion gains a new status for balance of 2024 and all of 2025, will the additional status years be based on 2024 status at START of year or END of year?
That’s the big question I have into them.
I’m platinum and I don’t see mine yet
PM member and have 103,000 rollover. Will probably just select PM for 25 but will wait till later in the year.
