Delta Air Lines announced early last year that it extended all unused eCredits through December 31, 2023 — and move that earned a spot on our annual #KeepClimbing and #KeepDescending Awards. (This year’s edition will be announced soon!)
And here we suddenly are — precious few days remain before the year. If you’ve forgotten your Delta eCredits, make sure to use them!
Check your Delta account’s “Certificates & eCredits” to see if you have any eCredits expiring on December 31.
Unless Delta makes some major announcement within the next few days, eCredit expiration dates will not be extended again.
What if You Don’t Need to Book Any Trips?
You may have to think outside the box a little on this one.
First of all, check your existing Delta trips (if you have any booked). See if the prices have gotten cheaper. If they have, consider canceling the trip and rebooking with your expiring credit. You may have to pay an outstanding cash balance. Plus, you’ll have another eCredit to use from the original trip you canceled. Might not be worth it but just an idea.
Here’s another: book a trip you might take next year. If you change your mind later, call Delta and ask them to please help you modify your trip to something else — but use the funds you already spent.
Final Approach
Delta is not extending eCredit expiration dates again. You may have some expiring on Sunday, December 31, 2023. Remember to use them!
