Here’s something to taco ’bout. (Get it? Get it?)
The famous Sundance Film Festival is underway. So it’s only logical that the next major festival is — Taco Bell?
The Takeout’s Brianna Wellen wrote a post about an alleged event called the “Taco Bell Film Festival 2022 presented by Delta Airlines — Live Más.”
Delta sponsors plenty of entertainment events: parties and galas, charity events, and stuff like that. In fact, the airline co-sponsored with Air France the American Film Festival. And Delta’s had a presence at the Sundance and Tribeca film festivals.
So the airline being part of a film festival shouldn’t surprise us at all.
But as we’ve written about — in far more serious matters — the company is called “Delta Air Lines.” Not “Delta Airline,” as the TBFF listed its presenting sponsor. (#ProTip: misspelling a sponsor’s name is a bad whoospie. Although, maybe one of those scammy travel agencies is sponsoring the event?)
Let’s check out the official “festival” website, shall we? I must admit, the FAQs are kind of amusing.
Q: Are there Submission fees?
A: Unlike other “film festivals”, there are no fees! (though if you pay us, your movie gets accepted. The more you pay us, the more times we will play it and the more we will make it the center and focus of the festival. If you pay us enough, we will devote an advertisement campaign specifically for your film.)
Hey, they’re more transparent than most of the stuff that really goes on in Hollywood.
Q: What are the submission categories?
A: Mild, Medium, Spicy, Hot, Experimental, Documentary, Documentary Hot.
Sounds salacious. Or, salsa-cious, if you will.
Q: Can I submit multiple projects?
A: Yes, you bored little freak.
Oof. Someone’s channeling their inner Buddy Ackerman from Swimming with Sharks.
All of this was news to a Delta corporate contact. We’ll let you know if we hear anything official either way. 😉
Buy, hey, happy Taco Tuesday!
