AeroMexico has pretty decent fares for long weekend trips from Chicago O’Hare to Paris. And the prices are currently available from July through December!
Plus, the trip is projected to earn over $5900 MQD and 22,400 MQD when credited to a Delta SkyMiles account!
The going rate is $1742 for stays lasting a couple of days. (If you want to simply do immediate turnarounds and enjoy a weekend in Paris, those fares start at about $2042.)
The trip is estimated to travel 14,802 miles. This is an AeroMexico “I” fare — so your MQD earnings will be 40% of the distance flown. That comes out to $5920 MQD — more than three times the amount of your airfare!
Plus, the Unofficial SkyMiles Calculator estimates the trip will yield 22,426 MQM and 29,900 redeemable SkyMiles (before applicable Medallion bonuses.)
The flights between Mexico City and Paris are scheduled for 787 Dreamliners — so you’ll be able to get some rest in lie-flat beds!
I like the idea of hitting some Christmas markets, so I selected December dates. Here’s our example trip:
It’s a business class “I” fare — which is nice because you don’t have to deal with the potential of Y-up issues or anything like that.
ITA Matrix reflects a ton of available dates:
Keep in mind you may need to take a COVID before your return to the United States. So make sure to factor that into your stay. (Or just have Juicy Miles figure it out for you.)

Final Approach
If you want to visit Paris, this could be a great opportunity to get there in comfort and earn a bunch of Delta elite status MQD and MQM. Don’t live in Chicago? You have a couple of options. Take a positioning flight to Chicagoland (remember that Delta is awarding MQM on award tickets this year!). Or ask Juicy Miles‘ SkyTeam expert to create a mileage run from your home airport!
Enjoy!

Are you booking these on Priceline?
I haven’t decided yet if I’m going. But I think René booked his JFK to MAD odyssey through Priceline or JustFly — and started through TopCashback.
With last month’s FAA downgrade of Mexico’s air-safety rating, which “… ends Delta Air Lines Inc.’s ability to sell tickets on Aeromexico flights and a similar cooperation agreement between Volaris and Frontier Airlines Holdings Inc.,” will these MQDs & Miles actually be creditable?
You’re not buying the ticket through Delta, so that part is not a concern. Make sure to check out this post.
Booked this AeroMexico deal in June to get the MQD and MQM. Just received an email from Delta that the extra-bonus MQM and MQD now are only available on Delta marketed and Delta operated flights. Am I missing something? What is your take on this? Should I get the MQD and MQM?
@Jim – The “Accelerate” promotion is only on Delta ticket stock flights. Partner flights earn on partner charts even if you fly Delta metal if the ticket stock is booked on a partner.
