In honor of the big football championship game this weekend — and perhaps bitterly cold weather in the Midwest — DoorDash is offering 10% off certain alcohol delivery orders.
Use promo code 10ALC to receive $10 off orders of $25 or more from select liquor stores. The deal is valid where available and runs through this Sunday, February 7.
When you open your DoorDash app, look for the below promotion featuring a Bud Light can and Miller Lite bottle. Click it and you’ll be taken to a list of participating stores.
How good of a deal is it?
Well…
All of the participating stores in my area generally crank up their booze prices. And that’s before selling them on DoorDash, Uber Eats, etc. For example, one of them is listing a 750 mL of Jack Daniel’s for $24.99 on DoorDash — before delivery and service charges. My local, preferred shop about a mile and a half away sells it for around $19 out the door.
But if you’re really thirsty and don’t feel like going out of the house, it could be worth paying for the convenience. And if you have some DoorDash credit or gift cards, then you may end up spending what you normally would at a big-box liquor store. (The nice thing about this promotion is that it benefits local businesses.) I used the 10ALC discount to buy a 750 mL bottle of Buffalo Trace. After the promotional discount and a $10 referral credit, I ended up paying $30.59 including tip. That’s about $6 more than I would’ve paid at the local store — but I was able to keep working while someone else did the shopping. So, for me, it was worth the “surcharge,” if you will.
Final Approach
This may or may not be worth your money. As I said, it’s probably more expensive to go this route versus actually going to a big liquor store such as Total Wine or BevMo. But your mileage may vary. Just drink responsibly!
