There are a number of small Sky Clubs in the Delta system. Take for example the B10 ATL club – yeah, no thanks – I hear the only reason to go here is the bartenders. So is the MSY club the same way? Nope! Take a look

You can get in with a number of AMEX cards or, if you are a Skyteam elite plus status and are on a coach or anyone on a business class international departing (or connecting) ticket, you can also get in free.

The only thing I really am not a fan of is this tiny grouping of chairs just inside the doors. A minor complaint. The folks at Check In were very nice and welcoming.

Again, what you see is just about the entire club but they have crammed in a bunch in this small space.

Including along the window “wall” space for laptop work and AVgeek gazing. Nice. Along the back wall are standard, but useful, networked printer and shredder.

I am constantly impressed, that even in the smallest clubs, these are omni-present (and working) devices. Considering how often printers have issues I am impressed across the system.

If you look back to the shot just above the printers you see a tiny cubby room behind check-in with comfortable high back chairs. I like these and really like when they have foot rests but this club was missing them. Maybe due to space.

Now back left of the entrance you have coffee and a small luxury bar. Surprising as I would expect a small club like this to be self serve. Again, well drinks are free with others for an up-charge (just never pay with SkyMiles as that is a horrid value).

At the far end of the club, again in a compact space, you have snacks on two counters. We were at the club very early so breakfast fare was out. Otherwise expect standard Sky Club snacks and soup.

You have one of the tiniest eating areas but it is there so again impressed but expect during peak times you will not find a spot here.

Anther bit that impressed me, on two levels, was the shoe shine machine outside the bathrooms. This is normally in the men’s room but you know the fine women who fly Delta could sometimes also benefit from this device so kudos for location and availability.

Lastly the view, even though dark, was nice for a Delta flyer and I am sure during the day the jet and runway view is to be enjoyed. I like! Have you had a chance to visit the MSY Sky Club? Have you found it crowded or open? Let us know. – René

I’ve visited the MSY club a handful of times over the past year at various times of day. It’s most crowded in the late afternoon, but never so much that it was difficult to find a seat.

Being a small club, the number of staff on duty is not that many, but the staff they do have is VERY much on top of their game. Case in point: a bartender brought me another beer in my seat by the center of the club when he saw that mine was finished, “Care for another?” he cordially asked. That’s southern hospitality!

Most recently I was here after a Bachelor Party in March, it was during the SEC Basketball tournament and the bartender was very willing to oblige my request to put on the game. Probably sat there for 2 hours before my flight where he was somehow able to twist my arm enough to have me try a few Abita beers as well as one of his mixed specialty’s.

Small club, but I didn’t find it chaotic in the least and had the standard lunch options. Would of preferred a little more Cajun flair with some of the food, but alas Cajun and confined spaces don’t work for all. Time was around 12:30-3:00 PM on a Sunday.

Ha, funny you noticed the red chairs. Same 4 units as issued in the Boston Sky Club main terminal. Perhaps a corporate design issue.

Had to come back and post again. I was just there Thursday morning and they had beignets! Kids loved it … just like we enjoyed at Cafe Du Monde.
