As you read this I am on a “fun run” and even have a reader along for the ride. You can check twitter as I am sure there may be some tweets along the way.
But one of my frustrations, that to me seems new, is the inability to check-in with more than 3 segments in one day. I mean, in the past, I have many many times had that I can only print my first 3 boarding passes but at least I can check-in.
Now it seems, if you have less that a 4+ hour window between your arrival and the start of the return you cannot check-in online. Is this new or have any other readers experienced this as an ongoing thing and I just did not know about it?
Now all my upgrades have cleared except one. So, no great loss, but for the one non-upgraded leg I would get a HOOU if I could just check-in at home. I asked “Dot.com” support from Delta if there was any kind of workaround but they said no and even checked with a supervisor.
So, any idea how to work around this one dear readers? – René

Assuming your upgrade doesn’t clear, the only workaround is to bellow the word “HOOU”, quietly at first, then louder until you’ve reached a lively, animal-like moan, to the flight attendant when he or she asks for your drink order. You will then be recognized for your loyalty and provided with a free drink or non-perishable snack box.
Depending upon the facilities where you are connecting, could you “reprint” your boarding pass after you check in at the airport?
In DTW, for example, you could use the Sky Club, or even stop into the Westin and use their kiosk.
I had a similar thing when I to check-in for a flight originating in the UK. The itinerary is LBA-AMS-ATL-DFW. The first segment is on KLM and I was able to checki-n online for only this segment. The remaining legs could only be done at the airport. All flights are printed on the same boarding pass and no sign of a HOOU! @deltaassist seemed clueless about the change.
