And also we now, as of 4:07 EDT have an updated statement from Delta about what went on:
“Delta apps and delta.com are operating normally after overnight maintenance caused performance issues for approximately four hours today. We apologize for the inconvenience to our customers. No flight delays were reported as a result of this issue and customers were able to check in using airport self-service kiosks throughout the entire event and book with directly with Delta Reservations.” – Delta CORP

Really Delta – Really?
If you have tried to do anything at all on Delta.com today you will see many errors like the one above. Or, get very strange results like this one:
If you can get the site to work it is VERY slow and the Delta phone app is not much better if you are able to log-in at all.
I reached out to Delta and was told:
“Delta is experiencing issues affecting the performance of our web site and mobile applications. We apologize for the inconvenience to our customers while our technical teams work to resolve these issues as quickly as possible.” – Delta Corp
And that is the same quote they are pushing out on twitter as well. No idea when it will be fixed or what has caused this. It seems flight ops are fine and airport kiosk check-in is working! – René
PS – on a side note BoardingArea.com is flaky today too 🙁

I thought it was my computer and network. I literally had my CTO checking out our T1 lines. Thanks for the headsup. I was literally trying to book two flights, and the sites wouldn’t load anything in under 5 minutes.
Faced the same problems this morning. But seems to be resolved now, I am able to review my SkyMiles activity and review / book new trips
It has been that way for years..hahaha
