In some ways I feel like the clown shot out of the cannon at the circus! I have been around this “game” for a little while contributing where I could with Rick mostly but also at FlyerTalk and Milepoint . I have to say this group of travel bloggers is truly a unique group of people. They all love what they do and can not wait to share everything they know ASAP! Their only goal is to share and teach and enjoy when others achieve and travel either in a way or to places they only once dreamed of.
I count it a rare and amazing privilege to be a small new part of it. So what has happened in 1 month for me and DeltaPoints.com?
First I must thank Randy Petersen as we all should. This unassuming man does so much for you and I and you may not even know it. I know it and I thank you so much Randy!
Second ( this is kind of like the chicken and the egg btw ) is you my readers. What would be the point if you did not read my blog and benefit from my words. I hope you have and I think you do. As of today, Delta Points has had over 26,000+ visitors and nearly 50,000 views since November 17th. I am stunned and so very humbled and appreciative.
So what am I most proud of this month? I would say my list is this:
1. Low level award booking parts one and two
2. 40 Questions and Answers in one day from my readers
3. How to travel on Delta post as it is how I roll!
4. Breaking the news on the Skymall 25,000 point promo + helping readers
5. My interview with Million Mile Secrets
Why these? Until one month ago my focus has been on amassing as many points as I could and using them and sharing what I could find with bloggers and fellow flyers. You know what has changed since I began blogging? Absolutely nothing! The only thing new is that I can help my fellow Delta flyers enjoy the airline I love and maybe help you get better deals. How kool is that?!?
So what will the next month and the next year bring? (hint btw Monday should be an fun post) I hope to keep bringing you more of the same fun help and tips and miles. I pledge to be here and be available on a personal level. If you need me, just e-mail , and I will do all I can! What can you do to help me? Keep reading the blog each day, asking great questions and when it comes time for you to get a points card please consider starting at my site from the “best points cards“ tab as it does help me out!
Warmest Regards – René
To kick off the new year with Deltapoints.com I am giving away today a “weekend” (actually any 2 days when there is availability ) at Priority Club property of your choice on points break ! Yes 2 nights FREE. You can pick what is available NOW or wait for the new list out in about 1 month. We will email back and forth and I will book the room and even try for a suite upgrade for you! So leave a comment of what you think about the blog one month in a chance to WIN!

Love this site! I’m a rookie and learning SO much about mile & point collecting your posts. Keep up the great work!
Hi MM – txs – rene
Hello Rene,
I would love the free priority club weekend! Thanks for sharing. I read the blog daily or more and have already gained a lot of info from it.
Hi Jim – I hope I have more to share! Rene
I’m VERY new to the travel game, but I really enjoy reading your blog. I’m not sure which airline I want to align with and you are really helping me learn more about Delta. Even if I don’t choose delta I will continue to read your blog!
Hi Brock – Enjoy Delta but collect points everywhere! – Rene
I’ve really enjoyed reading your blog over the past month. I’m glad someone is giving Delta some love!
Us DL plat’s gotta stick together! – Rene
Yes, first one!
Thank you, Rene, for starting the blog and sharing with us your insights on the in-and-outs of Delta! I have noticed your posts on FT and know that you’re very knowledgeable. Delta Points along with TPG are very resourceful when it comes to using SkyPesos. I also definitely appreciate the little tips you have shared when traveling with Delta. Keep it up!
Like the Blog as I am also a DElta junkie!
Happy to be your fix John – Rene
I am not a Delta flyer, but I like the other posts.
Be sure an share your tips with us as well – rene
I guess I am the first to comment. Great blog. Have added you to my blog reader.
🙂 – rene
Awesome blog so far! Keep up the good work!
Your site provides valuable information that has helped me maximize my earnings potential with Delta and overcome their stinginess with reward opportunities
I really like having information out there on Delta since it is my preferred airline, due to where I live. My only improvement is that sometimes the formatting makes it difficult to read the blog.
Great blog. All very helpful stuff.
Like that it’s easy to read, has real information, and that you don’t post 345 pictures of what you ate on your last mileage run!!!!
Fun to read this blog but would love a secondary topic with each post, or those of us who don’t fly Delta!
Congrats on the reader levels!
Congrats on your first month as a blogger! I always viewed Delta miles as one of the lowest redemption value. But due to your blog, I am starting to see how it’s very useful. Your concentration and specialty with Delta is unmatched and unique. I will be looking forward to more blog posts from you in comind days, weeks, months and years as I have been checking your blog few time a day so I dont miss any valuable information! Cheers!
Congratulations – keep up the good work!
Thanks for all you do with your blog! I don’t fly Delta often, but do find the tips, suggestions, and explanations very helpful! Keep up the great work!
My husband and I are daily readers (we have you on our google blog reader). Since Memphis is our home airport and Delta is king at Memphis, your blog has become very important to us. Keep up the great work and perhaps we will be on your next Delta flight! Happy travels!
Thanks for the blog
Thanks for organizing this. I’m a Silver Medallion member and a fan
Great website. Lots of helpful tips and tricks of the trade. Thanks for all of your hard work.
I’m very glad to have you blogging as you’re definitely filling a needed gap in the blogosphere. That said, I have no clue how you are going to keep finding prizes to give away 😉
Thanks for the insight and sense of humor. It’s a pleasure to read the blog.
You’ve quickly established yourself as both informed and generous. Long live your blog.
You are one of the few who cover Delta. Thank you for your contribution!
I’m an infrequent delta, but I’ve really enjoyed your posts. Thanks for doing this giveaway
Great stuff so far, has definitely helped me get the most out of my travels. Thanks for the tips and happy holidays.
Enjoy the blog – keep up the good work, Rene!!
Your site has become a daily read for me. Thanks for all your effort and for the information your provide!
One of my favorite blog! Glad to learn about punch hole to cards & chain them together! Congrats for the success of your blog!
Congrats on 1 month!!! I’m also a newbie blogger & I love hearing about the success of others 🙂 keep going
Love this site and really appreciate all that you are putting into it. I’ve always been a little partial to Delta although I just love points and miles. Thank you for showing us how to “rack” up the delta miles and make the most of them!
Fellow Delta fan here. I thoroughly enjoy your blog. Cheers
It’s been a good month. Im responsible for at least 50 of those 50k. Great work here.
I look forward to reading your blog daily. Always something interesting.
Thank you for the unique insights into the land of Delta. Much appreciated!
Great blog! Being a Delta flyer, I love reading it.
I started getting in to points last summer, and I’ve been following several blogs, including those posting on Boarding Area. I decided to commit to Delta, but I struggled to find a resource that exclusively catered to the Delta Flyer . . . until your created this blog.
Thanks for all you do to support our collective goal to maximize opportunities for memorable, pleasurable moments for our families and ourselves.
Cheers.
René, you’ve done a phenomenal job with this blog. Keep up the great work!
I try to fly Delta and Skyteam partners as much as I can, and I stumbled upon points and miles blogs this year. I’ve learned so much. Your blog is a very welcome addition for me because of your detailed posts and focus on Delta. Keep it up in the New Year! If I happen to win the Priority Rewards stays, it would be a very welcome break for my wife and me after a hectic holiday season with travel and family.
I am enjoying the site/blog. I am a Delta flyer and always trying to maximize the experience and the miles. Keep up the great work, and yes, I would love to win the contest too!
congrats on your first month!
The 40 questions and answers must have been quite an effort for you, especially that you were traveling. Thank you for all you do!
Really enjoying the blog, thanks!
Great info about all things Delta.
Congrats and thank you
I live near Minneapolis and Delta is about the only airline to fly so I’m thankful there’s finally a blog devoted to Delta (wel, a good one :D)! Keep up the good work and I look forward to your 1 year anniversary!
Keep up the good work. I live in MSP, so the Delta information is very useful.
Only fly delta for work so I lie having a blog out there dedicated to it!
Great job in your first month. Tons of great in depth info on Delta, which gets very little (positive) coverage from the other blogs.
I don’t typically fly Delta, but I have to say your blog has made me consider them.
I like the blog and enjoy your enthusiasm. What I would suggest is to keep your focus on Delta and Skyteam. Even if there is other exciting stuff in the miles universe, if you try to cover it all it just ends up as clutter. I am constantly reading the same story on multiple blogs, so I liked your initial singular focus.
sounds great
It’s nice to have a blog focus on Delta, because so many other blogs don’t!
Thanks a lot for blogging and provide us with all of the great information
I think in a month, the blog will be about how best to maximize your Delta points
I don’t fly delta much since they moved out of DFW but I read your blog to diversify my miles collections to use on their partners.
I love your blog! It’s always interesting and helpful, plus the giveaways are amazing. Keep up the awesome work!
I was really surprise to learn that someone was dedicating a blog to Delta. Since I am new to Delta, I look forward to any idesa.
Learning a bunch I didn’t know about Delta – keep up the great work!
Love the details on your blog. Thanks for sharing…
Thanks for your contributions, I also have you in my travel blog reader!
Love your blog – I look forward to your updates & seek it out every morning. Thanks.
This is a great site for Delta fliers. It’s important to make the most of one’s dollars and points.
Thanks for your help. I got back my money thanks to your help
I don’t know if I chose Delta for a particular reason when I started flying a lot for pleasure. I did come out of the old Northwest Airlines area, having flown out of MSP on several occasions in college. I also wanted to avoid connecting in ORD as much as possible. In many ways I am glad I stuck with Northwest/Delta, and as a strictly pleasure traveler secured Gold Medallion this year for the first time. I was so excited to see your blog start because of how much great Delta-specific information it has. Keep it up, I’m loving it all.
Hi Cory – you will like GOLD – Rene
Great blog. I’m not a big Delta flyer but I have loads of DL miles so I’m glad you are here to keep us alert of Delta deals.
Txs Gabe – rene
Great blog so far, sorry I missed the Delta Skymall promo on November 30th, but I did get in on it for 100K back in September buying the same thing you did. Thanks for the contest.
Randy
Hi RB – sweet – Rene
Thanks for being on the vanguard with early breaking Delta Skymiles news, tips and advice. Just what the Miles Doctor ordered! I appreciate how you cut through the morass of info that’s out there and offer something highly useful in the “blogosphere.”
That is why I am here Shannon – txs – rene
Love the blog so far, it really adds to the diversity of Boarding Area. Thanks for all the insight!
🙂 Rene
Just started reading your blog, very helpful (I’m a newbie) and is very easy to follow.
Hi AD – I try and my bride helps me so much too! – rene
My mom is a retired jetsetter… She’s wracked up more than 50k miles this year visiting family… This blog gives me tons of ideas on how she can use them!
Hi Kris – soon you will have millions of points to use as well! – rene
Wish had existed earlier! The posts on booking award tickets with Delta is really helpful.
many trips to come Cassie – i will help all I can – rene
It’s always overwhelming to think how many peoples’ lives have been touched by Randy. He is a gift that keeps on giving. I am so thankful for Flyertalk, Milepoint and all of you bloggers sharing information. Love the community.
thanks boxo – some of us understand! – rene
I love Delta, so your blog is especially helpful to me – and my 5 year old loves looking at the picture of the plane at the top of your posts. Thanks so much for helping all of us with your tips.
🙂 I have more fun ones for him. Can’t wait to have you send a photo of him on the upper deck of a DL 747
Thank you for your blog, trying to navigate through Delta can be a bear. You brought clarification to the process.
Hi RZ – grizzle at times but we can feed the bear and make it happy! – rene
thanks for representing delta! appreciated the 40 q+a post!
Hi CCW – yes that was a long day but fun – plan to do it again next month and every month. – Rene
Rene –
Us “delta” people are a minority around the frequent flyer world, so there’s some safety in numbers – or at least validity or security. I’ve been flying around the country alot – in order to run a marathon in every state (something I’m proud to say I have now accomplished) and also because I love to travel. I like Delta = but i wish they would stop it with their recent negative moves. Its time for them to throw us “believers” a perk. You’re doing a great job of reporting – when I go to boarding room, your blog is one of the first I look at.
Kathy
You and me Kathy ” we click ” – txs for the input and reading the blog! rene
and I forgot to congratulate you on your one month “anniversary”!
I think the blog is great! I’m learning already, and Delta is pretty much the best choice available when flying from where I live, since a lot of the airports are smaller and rural. Thanks for sharing what you know and are learning! It keeps getting better.
Hi Jared – I will help all I can – rene
It’s so great having so much information to help me get started in this points-gathering game! Keep up the good work!
Hi Jeremy – txs – please consider my best points cards link if you need a points card. – rene
It’s an informative blog – so far it doesn’t feel as personal as some of the other Boarding Area blogs. If and only if you want to get that sort of feel, you may want to share more of your travel stories!
Thanks Eric – I plan to. Just have not had time yet 😉 but will soon. I will post about my Ski trip soon. – Rene
Luv your blog. Yes we are Delta loyal and all tips help. Keep it up.
Hi deb – us Delta folks gotta stick together! – rene
Txs deb – Rene
Congrats on your first month. My husband is starting to fly Delta for work, so I need a way to keep up with their promos. Thanks for what you do.
Hi CB – Great! I hope if he needs a DELTA AMEX he will look at my links – rene
Congrats on the one month anniversary!
txs – rene
I’ve especially enjoyed your heads-up on the SkyMall promo which allowed me to rake in 1 million Delta miles at a very low cost! Thanks!!
🙂 Sweet 🙂 Guess we will not see you behind the curtain for a long time to come! – Rene
definitely some good work! I think the most valuable post was the low level delta bookings…for obvious reasons! Keep up the good work!
Love your blog enough to bookmark and check it everyday, twice. Thanks.
Great site run by a great blogger!
Congrats on the 1 month anniversary!
Great job! Enjoying your posts~ keep up the good work!
Count me among the faithful, and keep up the good work! Now throw those Priority Club nights my way so I can use them for my honeymoon 😛
Keep up the good work!
It is great to see a blog concentrating on Delta instead of always just picking on sky pesos.
Feels like its been longer! Just as professional as the old timers and chalk full of information. The rewards booking post really helped me out with some of my questions regarding Delta.
Hi Jackson – wow thanks for your kind words! – rene
congrats on one month. i follow FTG so was aware of you before; didnt realize that your blog was so new.
hi rene, congratulations on your month. i enjoy the blog; strangely, it was the article on the AF flight that intrigued me the most. scary!
Love your blog! You’re a very generous guy!
I just earned silver medallion status for 2012 and absolutely love your blog to learn new ways to maximize miles, and all about Delta! I look forward to everything you have coming!
Hey Rene – congrats on your 1 month anniversary! Your enthusiasm for Delta is quite catching – can’t wait to see what the coming months bring – keep up the great work!
I think your website is fantastic. It’s become one of my daily website visits. U have some really valuable info as I cashed in on the 25,000 skymiles from skymiles shopping a few weeks ago. Congrats on the new successful website and hope your success continues to grow!!
Hi … I am in! Thanks for the offer!
Hi Kalboz – thanks but we have a winner for this round. – Rene
Glad to see a specialized blog on Delta. I fly them frequently. Please keep up the good work!
Good post. I be taught one thing tougher on different blogs everyday. It can at all times be stimulating to read content material from other writers and apply just a little one thing from their store. I’d prefer to use some with the content on my weblog whether you don’t mind. Naturally I’ll give you a link in your web blog. Thanks for sharing.
My cousin recommended your site and clearly she knew what she was talking about. We are 65 and 67 years old, but love to travel as we are retired, so hopefully after reading and using your suggestions, we will have lots to tell you regarding acquiring points for additional travel. We are joining all the airlines mileage programs as you suggested and hopefully can enjoy the rewards. Keep up the good work and God Bless you for helping so many people.
Fran Yates
Thanks for blogging! I also read Viewfromthewing but I prefer the concentration on Delta as I live at a fortress hub. Keep going!
Love your blog!
hi-ya, I like all your posts, keep them coming.
