A credit card for the hotel loyalty program so many people love now features a limited-time offer.
World of Hyatt Business Credit Card
The World of Hyatt Business Credit Card offers new cardholders the opportunity to earn up to 75,000 bonus points. Here’s how.
First, you can earn 60,000 bonus points after you spend $5,000 in purchases within three (3) months of being approved for the card. If you spend a total of $12,000 within six months of being approved, you’ll earn another 15,000 bonus points. This promotion will not be around long; it expires on September 25, 2024. (You can learn here how to apply for this offer.)
So, How Do You Earn “At Least 87,000 Points”?
Here’s how the Hyatt Business Card‘s points earnings break down:
- Earn up to 9X total World of Hyatt points per $1 spent on Hyatt stays
- 4X per $1 on qualified purchases at Hyatt hotels & up to 5X base points per $1 from Hyatt as a World of Hyatt member
- 2X total World of Hyatt points per $1 spent in your top three (3) spend categories each quarter. The eligible categories are:
- Airline tickets purchased directly with airlines
- Internet, cable, and phone services
- Dining
- Gas stations
- Car rental agencies
- Local transit and commuting
- Social media and search engine advertising
- Shipping
- 2X total World of Hyatt points at Fitness clubs and on gym memberships
- 1X total World of Hyatt points on all other eligible purchases
My guess is that most of your purchases will be in those 2X categories (especially airline tickets, internet-cable-phone services, dining, and gas stations) with maybe some Hyatt spending in there, as well.
But let’s say all your organic spending reaching the $12,000 required for the full $75,000 is done in the 1X “all other eligible purchases” category, you’re still earning 12,000 points. Add those to your 75,000 bonus points. Presto! Your World of Hyatt account will be 87,000 points richer.
Again, you have the chance to earn far more than that, though. And Hyatt Places are fantastic steals — nice properties for very low award rates.
Hyatt Business Credit Card Perks, Benefits, and Features
The Hyatt Business Card gives you and up to five employees receive Discoverist status. No, it’s not Globalist or even Explorist. But Discoverist is part of the special “World of Hyatt” lane at front desks. That’s amazing when the regular check-in lines are long and slow.
You can earn up to $100 in Hyatt statement credits, too: spend $50 or more at any Hyatt property and earn $50 statement credits up to two times each anniversary year.
You also earn five (5) Tier-Qualifying night credits toward status and Milestone rewards for every $10,000 you spend during a calendar year (get that Globalist status!)
The card carries a $199 annual fee.
Here’s something I don’t love about the card: it doesn’t come with an annual Free Night certificate like so many other hotel cards do — even some with lower annual fees.
It’s a Chase Card
The Hyatt Business Card is a Chase product. Even though this is a business credit card, you’ll probably be denied if you’ve been approved for five or more personal credit cards within the past 24 months. But we’ve heard stories about Chase thawing its 5/24 policy — especially with business credit cards.
FInal Approach
New World of Hyatt Business Credit Card applicants can earn up to 75,000 bonus points during a limited-time promotion available through September 26, 2024.
