U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg has been very proactive regarding airline passenger rights. He and the DOT created laws mandating what passengers can receive in terms of compensation for canceled flights and being stuck on planes.
The Delta IT fiasco provided a darkly opportune time for people to see how some of these rules work.
In a video posted to The Recount’s YouTube channel, Secretary Pete reads various Tweets from people affected by the Delta problems. It’s more informational than anything. The roughly five-minute clip is quite as funny or cutting as Jimmy Kimmel’s “Mean Tweets” segments. But it’s still worth a watch.

He is a great advocate for travelers and has made a lot of new rules that protect us all. Hope he continues to elevate his political role to have even more positive impact for the future.
