Hot on the heels of Delta Air Lines opening its first Delta One Lounge, there’s a rumor the Atlanta-based carrier has plans for another business class club — but the details haven’t been officially announced.
“FC flyer” posted on FlyerTalk that a Sky Club manager told them Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) will get a Delta One Lounge “and will probably be in the C lounge space.” FC flyer added there is “(no) specific timetable yet.”
To add fuel to the fire, “BusinessElite25” noted a Delta job posting from 2023 that said, “The Manager, Premium Services, will manage the daily operations of the premium ground services in MSP, including Delta Sky Club(s), Delta One Check-in, Elite Services, and VIP Select; as well as Delta One Lounge and Express Bag Drop (coming soon).” However, that verbiage could’ve been copied and pasted from another job advertisement for a location with a confirmed, announced Delta One Lounge.
The other Delta One Lounges will be in Los Angeles (LAX) and Boston (BOS). LAX already has a dedicated Delta One check-in lounge; business class passengers will access the new, exclusive club via an elevator when it opens later this year. Right now, Delta One passengers use the elevators for a special entrance to the “standard” (and beautiful) Delta Sky Club that opened a couple of years ago.
A Delta spokesperson told us they don’t have any updates to share at this time.
I find a few points interesting about a Delta One Lounge at MSP.
First, it’s not like Delta faces much competition for long-haul international flights out of Minny, whereas other Delta One Lounge sites such as JFK, LAX, and Boston are tougher battlegrounds. Aer Lingus and Lufthansa are probably Delta’s only (very distant) threats at MSP. Air France and KLM operate flights from MSP to Europe — but they’re also Delta partners. Still, it’s nice that Delta wants to deliver a quality experience to their business class passengers — no argument from us!
(In addition to the C Concourse Sky Club, Delta has two other lounges: the fantastic G18 club and the F/G Sky Club.)
“jrkmsp” and “DLASflyer” both note that the C Concourse club location doesn’t exactly make the most sense, seeing as how most of Delta’s international flights depart from the G Concourse — which is on the other side of the terminal.
“Would seem to make more sense to have the D1 lounge take the place of the old F/G lounge and use the new G and old C lounge as the SkyClubs going forward,” jrkmsp wrote.
I don’t hate that idea. But the C Sky Club needs updating. We’ve heard for years that it’s a getting major facelift. Plus, I like having a lounge in that main concourse area. The G18 club is at the end of the G Concourse. The C Club is kind of a trek (or brief tram ride) into that concourse.
Final Approach
A FlyerTalk member said a Sky Club manager told them a Delta One Lounge is coming to MSP. Plus, someone else pointed out that an MSP Delta One Lounge was mentioned in a May 2023 job posting.

Aer Lingus and Lufthansa are the latest non-SkyTeam airlines to end up on DL’s radar at MSP. But Icelandair and Condor are the ones that have annoyed Delta more in that way for longer.
It wouldn’t surprise me if either MSP or ATL end up being an airport with a weaker DL One lounge. Delta is looking at a DL One lounge at MSP. It’s to be seen if it even arrives before MSP-CPH.
Love to see one at MSP but agree that C concourse does not make the most sense. Let’s say I am not holding my breath….
ATL needs one badly.
The “new” Sky Club at Detroit (not really new at this point) was intended to be a Delta One lounge but then the rollout was delayed with the pandemic, etc. It’s since functioned as an overflow lounge for the main Sky Club at DTW, albeit one that’s much nicer. The main DTW lounge will be updated this fall with a premium bar and a new food area. I’m told the overflow lounge will then later this year or early next year become a Delta One lounge. Delta’s first priorities are JFK, BOS and LAX. It’s impossible to not see them offering some sort of Delta One lounge space at DTW, MSP and ATL after the first three lounges are opened.
