Need to save a few bucks on rideshare? A new offer allows certain credit cardholders to earn $15 back on eligible Lyft purchases.
Lyft Amex Offer
Lyft and American Express teamed up for a limited-time offer. Targeted cardholders who enroll in the promotion can earn a one-time $15 statement credit when spending at least $50 on one or more purchases on the Lyft app. (Terms apply to American Express benefits and offers. Enrollment may be required for select American Express benefits and offers. Visit americanexpress.com to learn more.)
The offer expires on August 15, 2024.
The terms specifically exclude electronic gift card purchases and international rides. However, I think you should be able to use it for Lyft Cash reloads. (Although, I haven’t had any luck loading any Lyft Cash with any of my credit cards. Have you had the same issue?)
Targeted?
None of my American Express branded cards (i.e., American Express Platinum Card®, The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, and American Express® Gold Card) received the Lyft Amex Offer.
However, both my Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card and Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card were targeted.
Here’s where that gets interesting. As part of the Delta Amex Card refresh earlier this year, all of the premium SkyMiles Amexes (everything except the Delta SkyMiles® Blue American Express Card) feature a rideshare credit: cardholders can earn up to $10 in statement credits each month (up to $120 annually) on U.S. rideshare purchases made with Uber, Lyft, Curb, Revel, and Alto.
My guess that that the $15 Lyft Amex Offer will stack. You could come out ahead if you charge $13 or so each month to your Delta Amex. You’d earn back the monthly statement credit plus the $15 on the Lyft Amex Offer.
Final Approach
A new offer allows certain credit cardholders to earn $15 back on eligible Lyft purchases. Only my Delta Amexes were targeted, which is potentially good if I can stack the Lyft Amex Offer with the monthly ridehsare statement credits.

I do not see this with my personal Reserve or personal Platinum Delta cards.
