Not Closing Your Stateroom Balcony Door Could Get You Kicked Off Your Cruise Ship!

Cruise vacations are on FIRE right now. Bookings as a result of the recent Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales smashed previous records. That is across the board — not just for one single cruise line. People really want to get back on ships — and why not since is a perfect vacation!

But you can do several things that could turn your dream vacation at sea into a travel nightmare.

This guy filmed himself (and posted it on Tiktok) fishing from his cruise ship balcony. (Honestly, part of me found it kind of amusing — and he got a pretty decent catch.) He also won a lifetime ban from sailing with Carnival Cruise Lines. (Although, some will argue it was probably a win-win for both sides…)

But did you know that simply leaving your balcony door open could get you kicked off the ship on the very first day of a two-week cruise vacation?

Wait, what?

A married German couple, Renate and Volker, were apparently in the throes of passion — and neglected to close their balcony door. They were rather loud while anchored off Barbados (at sea you can generally not hear things like at port or while anchored).

You can guess what happened next.

Per the Mirror.co.uk: “a manager, accompanied by a security guard, came to their room and told them the captain had ordered them to leave the cruise ship.”

Yup, they were kicked off the ship, forfeited their cruise with no refund, and had to find their own way home.

(Geez, Captain. Lighten up a little.)

Bottom line: you never want to ruin your dream cruise vacation. Be aware of what you are doing and that there are a few thousand other guests around you also trying to have their own dream cruise vacation, as well!
