I hope you’re having a great weekend! René and I (along with our wives) met up in person this week for some blog housekeeping, strategizing, and other behind-the-scenes stuff.
The weather here in Los Angeles was supposed to be awful: rainy and windy. But it was absolutely glorious: sunny, mild, and a slight breeze.
The de Lamberts and Carleys share a love for cooking. René and I often send each other pictures of whatever we’re grilling or smoking. (René lives in the Eastern time zone — and it drives him nuts when I send him a picture of dinner at 7:00 my time. You know, 10:00 PM his time. So, I take every opportunity possible to do so.)
He always wanted to sample my famous BBQ tri-tip — and this trip was the perfect opportunity! So, that’s what we had for our final dinner together.
I’ve taunted René with pictures like these for years. His review? It was totally worth the wait!
So, we literally had “a” beef :-).
This week on the blog, we discussed how almost at the end of the year — please keep this in mind as you spend away on your credit cards.
There’s a Virgin Atlantic Amex Offer that could save you some money — especially if you’re looking for a Delta partner run.
If you want to save money on an upcoming Delta flight, check out this Delta gift card promotion. Some readers had problems with orders going through — but many others were successful.
Are you taking Lyft to the airport during the holiday season? You might be able to earn some money if they screw you over.
On a related note, the Capital One and Uber partnership is still going strong for at least another year.
RFK Jr. responded to criticism that he walked barefoot through an American Airlines cabin.
You might earn back points or money even after you’ve booked a trip. Here’s how.
As always, thanks for reading, commenting, and sharing the blog!

I’m surprised neither of you commented on those 321 Neo business class seats. Having been recently in those twice, they are the absolute worst upscale seats in any airline I’ve ever flown. My wife would rather stay in Comfort than to take the upgrade. I can only hope Delta saved a fortune purchasing these seats.
I have to agree with @gregg as I have experienced this “joy” 4 times in the last week working on my final push to 2MM. The seats shown are the “mock up” version. In reality they are basic domestic FC seats with a plastic box around them. The actual “b.i.s.” experience is that when the seat in front of you is fully extended into your lap it is very difficult to exit your seat unless you are a gold medal gymnast! In my case the 6 hour flights each way from sea – koa requires the random leg stretch. The aisle seat is an obstacle course and the window seat is even more difficult when exiting mid-flight. Surprised that I have not just flopped out of seat on to the floor! The good part is that the A321neo has the option to pair a bluetooth device such as noise cancelling headphones to the IFE and then deletes your history before the next flight.
Good grief clean your grill it’s filthy….
@Craig – Preach it my friend – I have been nagging him for YEARS!
That said it was amazing so…
And get rid of all that flavor? 🙂
We went to LA for lunch at Gjelina yesterday!! A mini run for my other half to get to his MQD-Diamond!!
