Missed Connection: a Delta Sky Club Employee is Searching for “Soulmate” Guest Who Visited Lounge on Monday?

Air travel. Romance. Airport lounges. Minneapolis. Perhaps two star-crossed lovers who need to be reunited before “The End” pops up on the screen.

I’d pay to watch that movie.

Well, it turns out some of that might be true.

EDIT: This post’s headline originally ended with “…on Tuesday”. It’s been corrected to “…on Monday.”

Delta Sky Club Employee is Looking for “Alex from MSP Club G with the Mets Bag”

“Missed connections” at airports are usually associated with people who didn’t get on a connecting flight. But there are romantic “missed connections,” too. And that’s what we seem to have here.

Reddit user “Naytown93” appears to work at the new Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) G Concourse Delta Sky Club.

Naytown93 posted to the Delta subReddit yesterday a thread titled, “Alex from MSP Club G with the Mets bag 6/19/23”:

Dear Alex,

You asked me today to put your Mets bag of medication in our fridge at work today. I think you’re really cute and you were so kind! You made my day! If you see this, I hope you made it to your destination safely and have a good night 😊

That’s sweet, isn’t it?

Redditor Typical_Bag1659 responded, “we need more wholesome content like this.”

Buckle in, fellow hopeless romantics.

Naytown93 responded, “Please help me find my soulmate 🥹”

Ugh. Poor thing.

“vivekisprogressive” accused Naytown93 of being “creepy.” (I say no.)

“Billymaysdealer,” asked, “I’m confused. Are you trying to find him? Get his number?” to which Naytown93 said, “If the cookie crumbles that way it’d be nice but I just want him to know he made my day!”

A Sweet Story — and Maybe a Happy Ending?

First, let’s play along and assume Naytown93 actually works at the Sky Club.

#KeepClimbing for Naytown93: good job being a hospitable rep and putting Alex’s medication bag in the fridge.

Next, I’m curious what their interactions were like. Was the spark mutual? Did Naytown93 not slip Alex a phone number or email address out of shyness? (Do people still do that? I’ve been out of the dating scene for 20 years.) I assume such an action might be against Delta policy? Contacting someone on social media might be in bounds?

Does Naytown93 know that Alex reads the Delta Reddit? And/or hopes some travel and points/miles blogger with a soft spot for romance picks up the post and blasts it out in the name of love? (Mission: accomplished.)

So, Alex who was in the MSP G Concourse Sky Club on Monday, June 19 — with your Mets bag full of meds — it sounds like Naytown93 would like you to slide into their DMs

Also, I call dibs: my entertainment industry lawyer is on standby to option the rights. 😉

Final Approach

A Reddit user hinting they work at a Delta Sky Club implies a missed connection with a special guest. Now, this person wants to get in touch with the traveler — and has even dropped the word “soulmate.”

In any case, I’m curious to hear about the next chapter! How about you?

Not ethical. Doctors have had their medical license yanked because of dates with patients. One Sheraton employee said that they are not supposed to have dates with hotel guests.

Maybe this person is a baseball fan and just wants to talk about the Subway Series? (Lord knows my Minnesota Twins aren’t worth a breath.)

No biggie, but 6/19 was Monday and not Tuesday as in your headline. 🙂
I’m currently in that SkyClub looking for that user!

Thanks, Larry. Maybe I had Tuesday on the brain because it’s T@c0 Tu$sd@y. I literally ate my T@c0 Tu$sd@y tacos at my desk while writing this post. Thanks for the catch!

At least for the moment, Taco Tuesday is a trademark of Taco John’s!

“Enter, Taco Bell. Taco Bell decided it had enough of Taco John’s claimed exclusive ownership of the TACO TUESDAY trademark, so it filed a Petition for Cancellation before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB).”

Thanks for the heads-up! 🙂 I wonder if that’s the same Taco John’s closing all of its Fargo locations. I loved me some Taco John’s when I lived in Fargo.

There are still a lot of Taco John’s in the Midwest. I see none in California, but there is one in Reno and one in Utah. It looks like the closest ones to Fargo today would be Wahpeton and Detroit Lakes. I see more than a dozen around the Twin Cities.

I’ve had plenty of flirty female flight attendants. I’ve given my business card with a personal cell on it to a couple who I thought were interested but never heard anything. I think this is a case of an overly friendly customer who was appreciative of the medication thing.

Or maybe the poster confused kindness for interest? I’d know nothing about that. Nope. Nothing. Not at all. Didn’t happen to me ever in my teens or twenties. Nuh-uh. Nope.

Embarrassing if Alex’s partner (hypothetically speaking) reads this and connects the dots.

There’s no indication Alex acted inappropriately. Maybe the Redditor reddited (heh heh) too much into their interaction. Maybe Alex doesn’t have a partner. Perhaps this really is a legitimate thing.

Why, Lois? Are YOU Alex’s partner and you’re calling him out here on the blog? (Dun-dun-dun!) 🙂

This is creepy and unprofessional. If a man were to put out an APB on a female customer Delta HR would be doing an investigation.
