Last week, I teased an announcement at the end of a post.
After more than a year of planning, developing, and testing a new concept, I’m proud to tell you that René de Lambert and I officially launched a new blog: Frequent Floaters.
(If you couldn’t tell from the name, the blog focuses on the world of cruises.)
The blog includes cruise reviews, news, tips, and more. René is our captain. I’m merely a deck hand serving as the Credit Card Editor and performing some odds and ends tasks. Eye of the Flyer is my main blogging focus.
Frequent Floaters also features writers such as Marshall Jackson (AKA MJ on Travel), Mike West, a cruise line insider we call “That Guy on Board,” and another writer known as “Freshman.”
We’d love you to sign up for Frequent Floaters’ email newsletter. You can do that here.
What Happens to Eye of the Flyer?!
EotF proceeds on course! No changes are planned. René still contributes. We’ll still blog mileage runs when we find them, post trip reviews, blog about Delta, talk about credit cards and their programs, and all that stuff.
Please come visit us on the high seas — and stay with Eye of the Flyer for our air, land, and (some) sea coverage.

Nice! Good luck with the new blog!
Thank you!
Fun..Maybe we will get to cruise again…
@DEE – You bet. May have to plan a reader floater event one day!
A Float-Up would be great to do!!!!
Too bad you’re doing it with Rene, never found his 2 cents much interesting. Would love to see you partner with someone more knowledgeable like Gene or one of those guys.
Based on the number of page views and subscribers we earned in the past day or so, a lot of people seem to think René and our team are quite knowledgeable.
I’m delighted to work with René. We work well together. On the personal side, he and his wife, Lisa, are treasured friends.
I have no idea who Gene is. Or “those guys,” for that matter. But I’m sure we’ll hear from them.
Rene became a Covid Prima-Donna. Had to “jump ship” to another blogger.
Rene is not a prima donna. He still contributes to this blog, so he didn’t jump ship. And the “another blogger” he is working with on Frequent Floaters is me.
Not a good take.
Congratulations and best wishes you Guys!
Miss you all and hope for a gathering of one sort or another!
