If you are reading this post, you are likely an AVgeek or Aviation Enthusiast, shall we say. We both love not just flying but all the bits, bobs, and technology that goes into making things work. And that gets me to today’s post.
The only time I ever think about the paint job on a jet is either if it is a livery I have never seen before or maybe one of the “retro” ones that stand out or it looks something like the CRJ200 you see above. But there really is much more to it and the less that 5-minute video below is worth watching if you have not seen it yet.
Amazing right? I now have much more respect for just what it takes and what paint means to an airline. The above video did not include any Delta jets but I did find this old one of an NWA 747 converted to Delta colors (I would mute the funky music on this one fyi):
Fun fact: during my college days, I worked part-time in a number of paint stores but they were household and commercial building paint. I really did enjoy running paint guns and it would be a blast to have a go at painting a jet! – René
