Delta Air Lines launched some fireworks a week before the Fourth of July and issued a system-wide travel waiver.

Delta Fourth of July Travel Waiver
“We are providing more flexibility to customers for making changes to their flight schedule ahead of the busy July 4th holiday weekend as we expect to carry customer volumes over the weekend not seen since before the pandemic,” Delta said Tuesday in a statement. (Emphasis mine.)
The airline issued a travel waiver for July 1-4 (“peak holiday travel days”) effective for all cities Delta serves systemwide. So we’re talking not just the United States but across the entire world. Passengers can rebook their trips without penalty before or after July 1-4, provided that:
- The trip’s origin and destination don’t change
- Passengers remain booked in the original class of service (i.e., Main Cabin, Basic Economy, First Class, etc.)
And, yes, you read that correctly: Basic Economy tickets are getting some love on this waiver.
The only thing you’d have to pay for is a difference in cabin, such as deciding to treat yourself to Delta One or something.
Rebooked tickets must be issued on or before July 8. Rebooked travel must commence no later July 8.
Here’s all the information on Delta’s website.

We are flying MKE-ATL-EZE 7/4 yet 3 of the 4 of us are on D1 through Delta on miles and I booked my pops in D1 on the same booking but using Virgin Points, too bad the hassle to call VA to rebook and can’t do it all via Delta or I would jump on this ans extend our long overdue trip to Argentina to visit family!
