Cardholders are also eligible for a $100 software subscription credit

US Bank just launched a credit card that looks rather intriguing: the U.S. Bank Business Triple Cash Rewards World Elite Mastercard® carries no annual fee, features several 3% cashback categories, and cardholders can earn a $100 software subscription credit.

U.S. Bank Business Triple Cash Rewards World Elite Mastercard® Earnings and Statement Credits

The new U.S. Bank Business Triple Cash Rewards World Elite Mastercard®offers unlimited 3% cashback on purchases made at:

  • Gas stations
  • Restaurants
  • Cell phone service providers
  • Office supply stores

Everything else earns 1% cashback.

Here’s the feature I find especially appealing: cardholders can earn a “$100 software credit” annual credit for recurring software subscription expenses charged to the card. So that’s an easy $100+ back each year for charging a software subscription to your card each month. That’s a pretty tempting proposition — considering the U.S. Bank Business Triple Cash Rewards World Elite Mastercard® is a no-annual-fee product.

But which software subscriptions are eligible? That’s a great question. U.S. Bank specifically mentions “FreshBooks or QuickBooks.” The application page (which is accessible through our affiliate) says:

An automatic statement credit of $100 per 12-month period will be applied to your Account within two (2) statement billing cycles following 11 consecutive months of eligible software service purchases made directly with a software service provider. Eligible software service providers are identified by their Merchant Category Code (MCC) and purchases made at discount/retail stores or online retailers may not qualify. We do not determine the category codes that merchants choose and reserve the right to determine which Purchases qualify. We reserve the right to adjust or reverse any portion or all of any software services credit for unauthorized purchases or transaction credits. Account must be in good standing (open and able to use) to receive the credit.

I may get the card just to see if my Adobe Photoshop/Creative Cloud subscription earns the credit. If it does, that’d be well worth it. Worst case scenario: I earn $12 cashback over the course of a year and don’t get the statement credit.

U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa Business Card Welcome Offer

The U.S. Bank Business Triple Cash Rewards World Elite Mastercard® offers a $500 cashback bonus after cardholders spend $4,500 within 150 days of card approval. (That works out to about five months.)

How Does it Compare to the Ink Cash?

A similar credit card that immediately comes to my mind is Chase’s Ink Business Cash® Credit Card

The Ink Cash offers 5% Cashback/5X Ultimate Rewards points on the first combined $25,000 spent annually at:

  • Office supply stores
  • Internet, phone, and cable services

It also awards 2% Cashback/2X Ultimate Rewards on the first combined $25,000 spent annually at:

  • Gas stations
  • Restaurants

So if you spend $25,000 or less at office supply stores, the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card is a better bet. Especially if you have another Ultimate Rewards card.

But if your business spends a chunk of money at restaurants and gas stations, then the U.S. Bank Business Triple Cash Rewards World Elite Mastercard® is worth considering.

Final Approach

The just-launched U.S. Bank Business Triple Cash Rewards World Elite Mastercard® is rather intriguing: there’s no annual fee, it has several 3% cashback categories, and cardholders can earn a $100 software subscription credit. The software subscription credit is potentially an easy $100 back every year — if your software subscription codes correctly.

Wonder if I can product change to this from my business cash card. They seem pretty similar other than the software credit.

Maybe. Or get the new card and go for the cashback bonus.

Chris–did you get any more clarity on the software credit for the Adobe subscription? I’d like to use it for LR

Hi I’m curious about the adobe credit as well. Any more news on that?

I got the card in late April, so I won’t have any personal data points on that until around May 2023.
