Delta SkyMiles members in Seattle can pick up over 7100 MQM in a single day — during a very affordable mileage run to Austin, Texas!
September 8 was the date that jumped out at me. But play around with the calendar on Delta.com and see if something works for your schedule.
The trip departs SEA at 8:31 AM and gets to AUS at 2:30 PM. But the key here is the return’s connection in Atlanta.
Your layover is only about 35 minutes in Austin — so be wary of that.
Because Delta awards 50% bonuses on Main Cabin tickets this year, the 4757 MQM should become 7135 MQM. The $160 price point brings that to about 2.2 CPMQM. (And those $120 MQD will skyrocket to an astounding $180 😉 )

Awesome, thanks for the ex-SEA runs! Looks available Tues/Wed through mid-Oct. Also avail for 7-8.5k SkyMiles which is a solid ~2.28 CPM redemption
Thanks for the data point, Scott!
I am Austin-based and was involved in the airport expansion for Delta’s new gates. They are clustered together such that 35min is no problem so long as your Seattle flight arrives on time, and your only loss is missing out on our beautiful Sky Club. If you miss the ATL flight, there are more later, but not certain if you can get back to SEA that night.
Thanks, Loran! I remember that most of the Delta gates were very close together when I visited last (to visit the fantastic Sky Club on its opening day). Given that 1) AUS always seems to be under construction in some way, shape, or form, and 2) Delta is making changes at some airports, I wasn’t sure if that was still the case. Thanks so much for confirming!
The deal is also available out of PDX, although at a higher rate. But saves me a drive and a possible overnight hotel stay in Seattle based upon the late arrival return there. Being roughly 60 bucks more and nets roughly the same MQM.
Just another option for those of us in the PNW.
