Hotels.com is giving ten lucky winners a $2,741 prize “to go big on future travel in 2021!” The promotion is dubbed “The 2020 Tax Write-Off.” (Though wouldn’t a monetary prize be better termed a “tax rebate”? The company’s cutesy deduction form gives contestants a number of “expenses” to itemize: “number of hours spent dreaming of vacay,” “miles traveled from couch to fridge,” and “hours spent scrolling travel (Instagrams)” are some of the options. (Hey, it’s kind of creative!)
