Delta Air Lines is reportedly adding five routes from its LAX and Atlanta hubs.
TPG’s Edward Russell notes Delta is initiating the following service on November 20.
To/from Los Angeles (LAX):
- Fresno (FAT)
- Palm Springs (PSP)
- Reno (RNO)
The above routes will be operated by SkyWest Embrarer 175s.
To/from Atlanta (ATL)
- Boise (BOI)
- Spokange (GEG)
Delta mainline will operate those flights.
Flights Between LAX and Palm Springs?!
LAX and Palm Springs are about 120 miles apart. I’ve driven between the cities a couple of times and it’s…fine.
In bad traffic, though, it’s downright miserable. So this provides another option for Delta’s PSP passengers, especially those looking to connect to an international flight. It saves the time and pain of driving — especially after a long flight.
Plus — and hear me out — it gives Coachella Festival another way to get to the desert without worrying about driving.

Chris, See if you can find out when Delta might resume service to those smaller markets, like LNK, the discontinued earlier this year with ‘plans’ to reopen them in September.
