Delta Air Lines announced today an approximate idea of when its new Tokyo Haneda Sky Club airport lounge will open.
The airline said the HND location will open in early July.
This gives the new lounge a few weeks to get caught up to speed before the Summer Olympics, which begin in Tokyo on July 24.

Delta notes the Sky Club will be almost 9,000 square feet and that the airline will be the only US carrier with its own lounge at HND.
Right now, the only lounge which Delta passengers (Delta One only, at that) can access for free is the TIAT Lounge. (Read my review of the TIAT Annex Lounge at HND.)
I might have to make a trip to HND sometime this summer 😉 .

That’s a tiny lounge. Is Delta planning to turn away non-Delta SkyTeam passengers?

It’s about time. Delta will be the first and only Skyteam airline with a lounge at HND. And Priority Pass has no lounges there. Delta will need to up its skyclub game at HND to provide lounge benefits that approach what American and United passengers have. Duplicating the NRT clubs won’t cut it even though those clubs were among the best in the skyclub system.
American and United need no lounge at HND. American and United business and first class flyers and alliance elites have access to outstanding Japan Airlines and ANA lounges, among others. Those lounges have free premium food and beverages for those with access to the business class lounges and ultra premium food and beverages for those like AA Exec Plat, who have access to the first class lounges.
