Check out this New York JFK to Papeete, Tahiti premium economy mileage run we found! There are several available dates for quick turns — and a couple allow you to stay a few nights!
According to the Unofficial SkyMiles Calculator, the trip flies 13,414 miles — and because it’s booked as an Air France Premium Economy “A” fare class, it’s estimated to yield $4024 MQD and 20,123 MQM!
It currently prices at $1531.73.
Provided you book the itinerary as an Air France trip and credit the mileage your Delta SkyMiles account (that’s important!), you’ll earn the correct, elevated MQD and MQM — even though the US domestic flights are aboard Delta Comfort+.
I found departure dates available on March 5, 10, and 12; and April 28.
However, the March 10 departure currently prices the same and allows you to stay a couple of days and enjoy Tahiti. An April 30 departure also works for the same price — but requires a two-night stay. (Darn the luck! 😉 )
Seats were limited when I searched Air France.
Our example trip leaves JFK just before 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 12. You first fly to Atlanta and then LAX; both flights are in Delta Comfort+. Then take a 12:30 AM flight to Papeete, Faaa, aboard Air France’s Premium Economy product. You arrive at 6:10 AM.
About two hours later, you’re back on a flight to Los Angeles — again in Air France’s Premium Economy — and arrive at 7:30 PM. Then you hop a 10:35 PM Delta flight to JFK (in Comfort+), arriving just before 7:00 AM on Saturday.
It’s a lot of flying in a short amount of time. But if you can get away for a couple of days, you should score a ton of MQM and MQD.

Off topic, but do the elevate your status dollars count as a delta purchase for 3x points on the silver card?
@Jason: Maybe? If the vendor of record is Delta Air Lines, then it should work. If it’s Delta SkyMiles then…possibly?
