Delta has emailed medallions that there will be Medallion Member Celebrations Pop-ups around the USA through the 27th of January 2020.
You may have missed the fist few but you still have a number of cites that you can find them in. What will you see? Something like this:
Well, this looks interesting. We see a nice Delta (well maybe Delta) person in a Delta purple T-shirt (hope they don’t get a skin rash) and some Delta logo water bottles. Nice. What else? My friend Michael, who was featured on the blog crossing 1MM back in 2013 and what Delta did for him (he is a 2MM now btw), shared the following with me:
“I stopped by. Not much to it. Got a couple Delta water bottles, and some luggage tags. Then saw they had a huge stack of 500 point thank you cards for Delta employees. Like the ones that came in the Diamond packet.” – RenesPoints reader, Michael from SLC
Ah. Interesting. I have more “brag tags” than I know what to do with (but yes it is SMART to have a Diamond tag on your carry-on bag) but I can never have enough travel vacation water bottles. Plus, what I really like, is the RARE opportunity to get more JWD or “Job Well Done” certs that Platinum and Diamonds get in their yearly medallion kit – you can not request more of these so the chance to get more of these is sweet.
Your turn – did you visit a Medallion Member Celebrations Pop-up? Did you grab some SWAG? Are you impressed over this Delta thank you effort or more upset over the continued devaluation of the Medallion program year after year? – René
PS – If you missed it from years ago here was my experience crossing 1MM with Delta. I got to pop my head out of the cockpit escape hatch on a 747! 🙂

Missed Atl and SLC by a day this week
Thank you for posting this information. Are the pop-ups held inside the SkyClub? What is the location? Do you need to go through security to access them?
@Bernard – Look around in the concourse after security yes. Have seen photos in central A area in DTW as an example.
How do you attend those events? Are they at the airport? Do you need to register? I am a Delta 360member who became a 1MM miller last month. I got nothing more than a red luggage tag for that. Someone told me I would receive a Tumi bag, champagne, etc… but I got nothing. Also, as a 360, all I got was a Hartman backpack and a battery pack to charge my phone. Nothing impressive at all.
@Santastico – Just be at the listed airports on the listed days and look for them.
I stopped by the “event” at LGA Terminal D last night. They were just handing out RXBAR protein bars from an in-flight service cart… Free anything is nice, but it definitely wasn’t anything to get excited over.
@Kia – So kinda like a Delta HOOU cart with some extra SWAG?! 🙂
I’m Diamond again. I didn’t get the e-mail, maybe because there isn’t a pop-up in my city?
@Barry – Have you set all your “My Delta” setting to get all the “spam” e-Mails from Delta as your default setting? Have you checked your spam folder also?
Curious why I never got this email and fly out of RDU all the time and was flying on that very day!
I’m diamond and 2MM miler, but never got the email. It’s not in spam either.
