I do not normally put up “deal” posts but wanted to share this one. As a side note I am NOT booking it because:

- I don’t like to cruise in inside cabins
- I do not live in the NYC area.
On to the deal and one possible scenario for you to consider.
As you can see from the above, two of you can fly out of NYC for just 50,000 SkyMiles, that you got from any number of Delta SkyMiles cards with a LONG layover in Amsterdam before your connection. Ten hours is long enough to take the train into town and see sights like:
- Take a canal ride
- The Anne Frank House
- The Heineken brewery
- Visit the AMS observation deck (AVgeek joy)
- Even visit a lounge or two in AMS
Or endless other fun things. Just be sure to only take a backpack or something that will not impact you as your carry-on and then the rest check through to Barcelona.
Then you can stay for 3 nights in Barcelona near to the cruise port on Marriott points maybe from your Chase Marriott Bonvoy Bold card. There is so much to see in Barcelona and I just love the city. The metro is amazing and so simple. Once it is time to go to the ship I suggest pre-booking your pickup with Welcome Pickups.
The NCL EPIC is truly Epic. I have been on it twice in the past. Granted that was in The Haven, but those cabins this year are going for HUGE numbers. The inside rooms are mega cheap. For just over 91,000 Ultimate Rewards points if you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve® card you can pay for the 16-day sailing!
At under 6,000 points per night for an all-inclusive (drinks extra) that takes you to a number of amazing ports is a heck of a value!
When you arrive in San Juan why not stay where I did in the “old town” for a day after your crossing and see the city again staying on Marriott points. It is stunning. Just Uber from the ship to the hotel and then from the hotel to SJU airport.
You can one-way back to NYC for just 24,000 SkyMiles. Again, real value from your Delta points that you earned from getting a Delta SkyMiles card!
So many folks think that a mega vacation has to cost a fortune but it really doesn’t have to if you have a “bucket” of points to choose from. The above is just one example, that if you if think outside the box and are a bit flexible, you can have a dream 3-week vacation almost all-in paid with points from travel cards!

I avoid the Epic at all costs. Terrible ship regardless of cabin. The casino smoke is terrible and you have to pass through it going most places. I am just back from 2 weeks on the Joy and it was a wonderful ship. Great time. Getting ready to cruise Celebrity for 16 days in New Zealand.
@John – Epic is an odd ship. I find the Epic HAVEN one of the best but will be sailing JOY soon and can’t wait to compare.
