It’s mid-September already?! How did that happen? Temperatures cooled off here in Southern California for a couple of days — but now the mercury is surging past 100 for the third day in a row. How’s the weather where you live?

We discussed lots of financial and credit card information this week. We started last Sunday and talked about using cashback portals to save money when paying cash for hotel reservations.

On the credit card front, we took a look into Chase credit cards — and how they can be beneficial to Delta Air Lines flyers. Don’t you miss the days of being able to add the same Amex Offer to multiple cards? There’s sort of a way around that. Finally, American Express issued a limited-time offer for its Business Green Card.

Great news for Delta travelers who visit Tokyo: Delta announced that a SkyClub will open at Haneda next summer!

A travel agent was charged with wire fraud for his alleged abuses of Delta’s SkyBonus program.

Several readers weighed in on Delta’s gifts for Million Milers – and how they compare to other airlines’. Speaking of airlines, did you hear which one mishandles the most luggage?

It’s been a rough week at SFO. Runway construction has caused so many delays that Delta issued a travel waiver for traffic in and out of SFO.

For this week’s Rookie Wednesday, we talked about oversold flights (and will soon publish an updated post about bumpertunities).

One of our most-read posts this week was about a pair of brave fighter pilots who flew unarmed F-16s to take down United 93 on September 11.

Mileage Runs

A couple of mileage runs made the blog this week. One was an MQD run to Paris and the other an MQM jaunt to London. We’ll have more mileage runs soon!

Los Angeles, California - April 18, 2014: A Delta Air Lines Boeing 757-200 with the registration N655DL takes off from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in California. Delta Air Lines is the world's largest airline with 733 planes and some 160 million passengers in 2012. It is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.
