MQD runs on Delta’s SkyTeam partner airlines have become more important since Delta raised the Amex spend minimum to $250,000 for those pursuing or requalifying for Diamond Medallion status. Otherwise, one must accrue $15,000 in MQD spend on Delta — which can be earned through partner airlines, too. Remember that Delta awards MQD on SkyTeam partners based on an itinerary’s fare class and percentages of actual miles flown.
For example, René posted this MQD run from Toronto to Amsterdam in June. It was an AeroMexico business class trip costing $2000 — but yielded $6250 in MQD!
Similar to this morning’s MQM survey (please take part in the poll if you haven’t yet already!), please tell us what reasonable MQD earning rates you’d like for a run.
Again, finding and posting runs can be time-consuming but we’re happy to do it! So please be honest as to what your bare minimum is. But as always, we’ll try to find the best deals possible — after all, we take these runs, too!
Also, please let us know if we should check coach prices for MQD runs, too.
FWIW, I found a couple of 2.4x to 2.6x MQD AeroMexico business class runs yesterday — similar to the one I posted this afternoon. Would those be helpful to you?

I selected 3X. I just finished a business trip from SFO to New Delhi on China Eastern in Business Class that was about $2800 and yielded 7038 MQDs, which is about 2.5X. I figure that if I am spending my own money I want to do better than that.
By the way, at that fare China Eastern even includes free limo service to and from SFO. I have another trip with China Eastern in November, and those two trips will knock out more than $12K of my MDQ requirement.

For me, cost is a big concern. I would rather do 2-3 runs at $500 and 3x MQDs than do one at $2,000 and 4x MQDs. If I only need $2,000 in MQDs, I want to achieve it the cheapest way possible. I’m flying enough to get Diamond MQMs, just need to close the gap on MQDs.
About 35k mikes short so far this year with about 15k booked next month. Need mileage runs out of Austin or Tulsa.
I think “2.5x” should have been a choice. 3.0x is a great find, but 2.5x is a good floor. 2.0x wouldn’t get my attention. Last year I found JFK-EZE roundtrip on AM for 3.3x but can’t seem to get close to that this year.
